I directed a full AI-assisted series using Invideo Agent One. Here are the 8 things that experience taught me about what actually matters in AI filmmaking.

Tip 1. As a filmmaker, your expertise does not retire. It evolves. DPs, wardrobe stylists, directors, colorists. Every discipline maps directly onto this work. The ones thriving are not starting over. They are applying everything they already know.

Tip 2. Lock the story before you generate. The prompt is a script. If you cannot write the scene, you shouldn’t direct the AI yet. AI gives you exactly what you ask for. Vague in, vague out.

Tip 3. Reference is direction. The board you build before touching any tool is not a mood board. It is a brief. Study the greats. Not just what they made. Why it works.

Tip 4. Structure is what sets you free. I run my agents like department heads. One on the shot list. One on wardrobe. One iterating elsewhere. All in parallel. That is a crew.

Tip 5. Prompting is directing. There is a prompt and there is a director's note. They are not the same thing. Brief every shot the way you would brief a department head. Not what you want to see. What you want to feel.

Tip 6. Iteration is the new coverage. Five iterations minimum on every shot. Not because the tool fails. Because that is what directors do. We cover. Coverage is not a safety net. It is craft.

Tip 7. Sound is 50% of the image. People spend serious creative energy on the visual layer and finish it with a royalty-free track. The result looks considered and sounds accidental. Your audience feels right away.

Tip 8. @invideoOfficial Agent One is the strongest AI production partner I have worked with. That said, the most importantly thing always bring yourself to the table.

It understands as much as you give it. One of the best cases I found is when something doesn't work, ask Agent One what it might need from you in order to execute the task better.

Thanks! Great video. This is my first time using an agent. I just posted about it. I admit I was kinda fearful of it at first. But it's actually turned out to be a valuable learning experience. And great for brainstorming. I'm very impressed at how useful it is. It has also helped me with organization. My worst nightmare in school was storyboarding. My teacher let me slide on doing them which actually was not helpful in the end. The agent has also helped in that respect.

Thinking like this need to exist. The polarization of pro and anti ai pushed the craft side too far apart. I don’t think the two camps have to exist separately.

Looking forward to this. The biggest lessons in AI filmmaking rarely come from the models themselves. They come from storytelling, pacing, character consistency, editing decisions, and knowing when to guide the AI versus when to let it explore. The tools keep improving, but great direction is still what turns generated content into a compelling series. 🎬
