'I don't have a specific figure for you, Nick.' How many times will Nick Ferrari ask Transport Secretary, Heidi Alexander, how much it will cost to renationalise the railways?

'Nick was asking the wrong question, Heidi Alexander has only been in for a week.' 'That's not how this works!' @TomSwarbrick1 argues with journalist @christianwolmar, who defends the Transport Secretary for not knowing her figures on @NickFerrariLBC at Breakfast.

@NickFerrariLBC If she doesn't know the exact figure in pounds sterling could she not give a rough estimate in dead pensioners instead? Surely someone must be doing the sums for them?

Her example of purchasing rolling stock as a procurement cost saving suggests Heidi Alexander is neither familiar with the way in which our railways operate nor, more alarmingly, Labour's plans. The train companies she is to nationalise do not own rolling stock. They lease this from ROSCOs which do own it and which, as things stand, Labour do not intend to nationalise.

@NickFerrariLBC This is laughable. @Heidi_Labour lines up in a queue of Labour drones with zealot @Ed_Miliband at the front to make a fool of herself. A strategic transport initiative that she cannot cost cannot quantify & probably cannot deliver. What fools they are Who voted for this shower

@NickFerrariLBC T's a pity he never held the previous conservative government to such account.

🤦‍♂️ Another day. Another Labour MP. Another CAR CRASH interview. This time it was Financial Secretary to the Treasury James Murray on LBC, who appeared to know next to nothing about the Treasury’s own finances, much to Nick Ferrari’s mounting bemusement. Murray was busy boasting about removing VAT from energy bills to “help families this winter”. Nick asked the most basic question imaginable: how much will that cost the Treasury? Murray hadn’t a clue. Nick tried again. And again. Getting more exasperated with every attempt. Ferrari: “There must be a ballpark figure as to how much this is going to cost?” Murray: “Yes, but I haven’t got that figure in front of me.” Ferrari: “Hang on. You’re the Financial Secretary to the Treasury and you don’t know how much it’s going to cost you?” Murray: “I haven’t got the figure in front of me right now, Nick.” Ferrari: “Why not? Don’t you think it’s a fairly relevant figure, Secretary?” Nick pointed out that Murray and his colleagues must have sat around and come up with the plan, and the cost, so he should obviously know the answer. Murray just kept repeating the same line: he didn’t have the figure. Nick finally gave up: “Well I’ve asked four times and you haven’t answered. I find that extraordinary.” The whole interview was like that. Question after question on a range of subjects. No answers. Just waffle. I don’t know why these people bother going on air. Pathetic.
