Our ideology did not emerge yesterday. Our ideology, like the RSS' ideology, is thousands of years old. It has been fighting the RSS ideology for thousands of years. We have our symbols. We have Shiva; we have Buddha; we have Guru Nanak; we have Kabir; and we have Mahatma Gandhi. These are all the symbols that have shown the correct path to this country. Please name one symbol of the RSS ideology that is revered in India today. Was Guru Nanak from the RSS ideology? Was Buddha from the RSS ideology? Was Krishna Bhagwan from the RSS ideology? Not a single one. Because every single one of these people fought for equality and brotherhood. The last thing I would like to say is that this building has emerged from the blood of our workers, from every single one of our leaders. That includes all of you, who are today defending the idea of the Congress party. Everybody in this room is under severe assault defending the ideas of the Congress party. Sometimes we forget it. But these people in this room are facing systematic attack and assault on their lives because they are in the Congress party, and they are not surrendering to the BJP and the RSS. In the same way, thousands of workers are there. But there are also millions of people who believe in the Congress ideology. That is why, in the same way, this building has emerged from the soil of our country, from the blood of our leaders and our workers. The idea behind this building must also reach every corner of our country. That is the duty of this building. #WATCH | Draft UGC (Minimum Qualifications for Appointment & Promotion of Teachers and Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education) Regulations, 2025 released. UGC Chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar says, "Faculty members are the backbone of our universities and colleges. So, when we select and promote them, we need to evaluate them holistically. In the earlier regulations, we were driven by quantitative evaluation such as the academic performance indicators. Whereas, in the new regulations that we are bringing out in the draft regulations, there are many opportunities that we are creating to the faculty members. Earlier, if somebody had an undergraduate degree and PhD, they were not eligible to be appointed but now these new regulations provide that opportunity. So, there are 3 qualifications that we are providing for the new entrance into the universities and colleges. Those with undergraduate degree and PhD or a master's degree and PhD can apply without writing the UGC-NET. But those candidates who have a master's degree in non-professional programs such as Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Sciences have to clear UCG-NET to be eligible to become Assistant Professors. But candidates who have an engineering master's degree, such as ME and MTech, they don't need to write UGC-NET and they can directly apply for Assistant Professor positions in Engineering and technology programs..."

Mark Zuckerberg on the importance of engineers if you’re building a technology company “We never thought about ourselves as a website or a social network or anything like that.” Mark believes many companies define themselves too narrowly: “It’s one of the things I observed as soon as I came out to [Silicon] Valley. All these companies that called themselves technology companies were not really set up that way. The CEO wasn’t technical. The board of directors had no one technical on it… And it’s like alright, if that’s your team, then you’re not a technology company.” He believes there’s a balance: “You don’t want everyone to be an engineer because there’s other things that matter too. But if you don’t have a high enough share of the company as engineers, then you’re not a technology company.” This makes sense when you view it in the context of Mark’s strategy for Meta: “I define our strategy as: If we can learn faster than every other company, we’re going to win. The Government's trade deal with India will mean that it's cheaper to hire an Indian worker than a British one. Most other countries are perfectly happy to strike trade deals without forcing us to undercut our own workforce. We should have expected India to do the same. Instead, under the terms of our Free Trade Agreement with India, Indian companies will be able to transfer their workers to this country more easily. Once they're here, those workers will be able to avoid National Insurance payments for up to three years. The same is true for employers. Instead, both employee and employer will pay into the Indian social security system instead. This National Insurance exemption will make it much cheaper to hire Indian workers, in fields like IT and engineering, than to hire domestic talent. Let's imagine a British IT firm, set to hire a computer programmer for £60,000 a year. To hire them, an employer needs to spend £60,000 a year on their salary, plus £8,250 on Employer National Insurance. That's a total of £68,250. An Indian competitor with an office in London, meanwhile, can save money by transferring Indian workers to the UK, even if they pay the same headline salary. They’d still spend £60,000 on the salary - but instead of paying National Insurance, they pay into the Indian Employee Provident Fund instead. Mandatory contributions to the fund are capped at 15,000 rupees a month, or about £120. That means that, across a year, an employer only pays £1,470 into the social security system - for a total of £61,470. So under this Government's deal, it would be at least 10 percent cheaper to hire an Indian worker over a British one for this job. This is absurd. Over three years, it would be more than £20,000 cheaper for an Indian firm to bring over an Indian worker to London than to hire locally. The reason for this absurd arrangement is that the India deal includes a Double Contribution Convention. DCCs make it easier for international companies to transfer their workforce. They're designed to stop highly-skilled workers from paying into two different social security systems. We already have Double Contribution Conventions with other countries. However, these other countries tend to be either: (1) roughly as developed as the UK - in the case of countries like Canada or Japan, or (2) very small - in the case of countries like Jamaica. India is by far the poorest country on the list, and by far the largest. The net result of this deal will be more Indian workers in fields like IT and engineering, undercutting British workers. Given the relative markets in the UK and in India, we shouldn't expect this to automatically be a like-for-like swap in terms of talent. We've seen this happen in the US already, with Indian consultancies leasing their workers to American companies, who are then able to pay an Indian worker far less than they'd need to pay an American. The result has been a massive expansion in the number of lower-cost Indian workers, at the expense of American workers. We should not be allowing other countries to dictate the terms of our migration system, in exchange for some trade benefits at the margins. If India wants to trade, then we should trade. Migration shouldn't even come into the equation.

RFK Jr. responds to the Trump assassination attempt with a call for national unity: “I think we all need to take a breath now and step back and see that this is the product of so much vigil and so much anger and that when we release that kind of anger into the universe, it inevitably comes back and reverberates with these kind of consequences. All all of us now have to start looking at each other and saying, ‘we're all Americans and we're better than this. This isn't the way that we want our country to look to our children and look to people around the world.’ We need to stop hating on each other. We need to stop telling other people in the world that the other guy is going to destroy the republic. We need to recognize we're all Americans. We all love our country. It's time now to pray for the president, pray for his family, for President Trump, and to start being kind to each other and to start being generous to each other and to resist all of the implications that we continue in this kind of vitriolic way. Let's have an election. Let's go forward as Americans. Let's love each other. This teacher says if you ever wonder why people are leaving the teaching profession in droves, this is one of the main reasons. She has students that she has written an incident report on every single day. She has contacted the principal and the support staff and the help that was given to her was to email the parents of the students. Basically, no help or support at all. We have many epidemics in our country but this is one of the biggest that doesn’t get enough attention. We all know our school system is a failure but even more than we know. Students these days have zero consequences. They are passed with straight F’s. They are allowed to be a continuing distraction and disruption in the classrooms and nothing is done about it. We need to start over. 💯 Why do we allow this this as a school? As a district? As a city? As a state? As a country? It didn’t use to be like this? This is why other countries surpass us in education, there is no discipline in our schools. Would you want to be a teacher in this day and age at a public school?
