The coolest part of Microduck might not be the robot. It's how it learns to move. This repo shows the full reinforcement learning pipeline behind Microduck. The robot learns in simulation using MuJoCo, PPO and GPU-based training, then the trained policy is exported to ONNX and deployed on the real robot. But the real challenge is sim-to-real. The simulation models things like actuator behavior, battery voltage, command delays, friction and even gear backlash. That helps make the learned policy work when it moves from simulation to the physical robot. The repo includes policies for walking, fall recovery, sitting, standing, kicking, ground picking and even roller skating. Train in simulation. Test the behavior. Export the policy. Run it on a real robot.

Robotics is too hard to solve alone. So lowering the entry point is crucial. Also, ROS proved open ecosystems create lasting industry standards. So let's have a look at the new member of humanoids family! LeRobot Humanoid is a 3D-printed, bipedal humanoid platform designed for real robot learning experiments. This robot assistant from the NVIDIA CES Keynote on Monday is going viral. Nader Khalil🍊 explains all the hottest emerging AI trends in one demo: AI applications in 2026 will be multi-model, multi-modal, hybrid cloud/local, use open source models as well as proprietary models, control robots and embedded devices in the physical world, and have voice interfaces. (And the demo had a cute robot *and* a cute dog. Gold.) The demo was built with Pipecat AI. NVIDIA posted a really nice technical walk-through and complete code. The Reachy Mini robot from Hugging Face is open source hardware. (You can order it now, I have one!). You can run the assistant locally on your own hardware, in the cloud, or both.

Hugging Face is the open model hub: it hosts model weights, datasets, evals, & demo apps, and maintains the open-source libraries (like transformers) used to run and train them. I think of it like GitHub, but for AI models. You can download open models and run them on your own machines. In this series we'll cover what open source and open weight models are, how they work, how to run them yourself, and why they're important. By the way - this video is edited entirely with Claude! I can make a tutorial on how I did it. If there's a question you want answered about open models, leave it in the comments. We will read them all. Episode 1 is out soon.

Just a few days ago, I tweeted about PersonaPlex-7B, NVIDIA's new open source TTS ( And today, Qwen just open-sourced Qwen3-TTS 🤯 It’s a revolutionary text-to-speech model built for control. Not just about generating speech, but about shaping how it sounds directly from language. You can guide the pace, the tone, and the expressiveness straight from text, without touching audio graphs or hand-tuning parameters. That’s the real shift! What makes Qwen3-TTS stand out is how practical it already is: → voice cloning from just a few seconds of audio → voice creation without any reference sample → support for 10 languages out of the box → end-to-end latency down to ~97ms → works in both streaming and non-streaming setups The models come in two sizes (0.6B and 1.7B), so you can trade off quality and hardware cost depending on your setup. Day 28 of building Caliber for our own open source, open world game with a loop of AI agents. Today's progress: - driving is in we can get in a car and drive around the city. - the traffic and pedestrians all running while you drive, cars around you, people on the sidewalks. - Repo is under reconstruction. it's a little bit laggy in game still so I'm working on performance right now until it runs smooth for everyone.

A few months ago we set out to understand exactly how our models can be used to accelerate progress in robotics and other AI systems that don’t just represent the world, but are actually able to interact with it. We’ve been collaborating with leading companies in the space and we’ve developed an initial approach that we're now opening up to accelerate development across the industry. Our fifth announcement is GWM Robotics. GWM Robotics is a learned simulator that generates synthetic data for scalable robot training and policy evaluation, removing the bottlenecks of physical hardware.

Introducing WorldForge: testable world-model workflows for physical AI systems. You can think of it, loosely, as “LangChain for world models”. The problem is that “world model” has become an overloaded label. Depending on context, it can mean a video generator, a cost model, a robot policy, a JEPA-style latent predictor, etc. They share almost nothing, different inputs, runtimes, failure modes. I built WorldForge to stop pretending they're interchangeable. Front-door demo: a real Hugging Face LeRobot (LeRobot) diffusion_pusht policy combined with LeWorldModel by Lucas Maes checkpoint for scoring. Both run locally on my MacBook in the demo video. LeWM is extremely efficient (~15M params), can plan up to 48× faster, and runs on commodity hardware. WorldForge wires the loop: policy → candidates → score → select Replay happens in a local TUI today, but the same loop could drive a real robot in the world.
