This humanoid robot appears to be primarily designed for specialized industrial tasks, such as security patrols in underground parking lots. They previously launched the lightweight bipedal NVAI-2 and a wheeled humanoid robot. The bipedal robot is used in manufacturing operations, while the wheeled humanoid robot is used for unstructured, flexible tasks such as warehouse sorting, supermarket shelving, and office cleaning. Even when humans playfully play with the humanoid robot,it patiently waits until the empty cup is actually placed before it. A test: A staff member frequently interrupts the robot to see if Astribot S1 can recognize the empty cup until it correctly selects it, picks it up, and autonomously fills it with popcorn, all in one go. A simple human action is difficult for a humanoid robot (AI). In real-world situations, with many uncertain environmental distractions, such as a crowded table, unprocessed order labels, and an empty cup, a humanoid robot must make precise decisions and actions to be truly effective. Yesterday, I passed by a subway entrance in Guangzhou and experienced a retail kiosk operated by a humanoid robot again, buying a bottle of water. The process was the same: select items on a screen, scan a QR code for mobile payment, and the humanoid robot retrieves the product. (However, it didn't interact with me at all.) I looked it up, and the wheeled humanoid robot is named S1, from AutoLife Robotics in Shenzhen. It uses omnidirectional wheels for movement and a lifting body. It's 1-1.6m tall, weighs 72kg, and has a 10-hour battery life. A single arm can carry 3-5kg. Furthermore, this humanoid robot is suitable for lightweight tasks in retail, convenience stores, supermarkets, and warehouse sorting.

They're sharing progress on exceptional, low-cost hardware and a software layer from low-level control to robotic hand learning. This is the open-source approach to dexterous manipulation.
