You've obviously been in F2, but this is something different altogether, the pressure it brings.' Arvid: "It is very different and to be honest it's hard for me to really answer that now because I've only done a weekend, I don't really know what it's all like but I think it's an interesting point you make on pressure because a lot of people told me and you know.. I've done one weekend I don't want to talk too much but coming into this weekend a lot of people said there's going to be a lot of pressure and all this and that. In the end, I'm here for myself, I worked my whole life to get to Formula One, I don't have to do it for anyone, I'm here for myself because when I was five years old I had a dream and my dream was to be in Formula One and I was living my dream today and I just wanted to do as best as I possibly could you know and yeah."

He describes a friend who spent 16 years in an unhealthy relationship: "She admits freely that she should have been in it for one year. Society looks at her and says, 'She did it right. I did it wrong.'" He continues: "She got it right and I got it wrong. There's something wrong with me. There's nothing wrong with her because there's something flawed in you if you can't figure out how to do it. But [she was] staying in a 16-year relationship that you should have only been in for one that was unhealthy and unhappy and just not a good thing." That realisation reframed everything: "I'm a very happy person despite my lack of relationships because I have great friends." Simon's bigger point is about what society chooses to value: "Why does society overvalue the romantic relationship? So stay quiet and stop being a problem.’ …There were people who were trying to compel me to retransition, people who were trying to tell me to kill myself, even just for the fact that I was going against the dogma. And I stayed low for a little bit. I apologized to the same people who were abusing me because I was a freshly traumatized 16 year old girl. I had been bullied in school before, but nobody had ever treated me this horribly over such a painful part of my life. But after a while of being painfully isolated. I started to really think the way that they are treating me is not deserved. I'm speaking to nothing but my experience, to the way that I feel and to reality. I'm going to speak up, regardless of whether they want me to or not. And I just knew that there had to be other detransitioners out there. And very quickly, I learned that they were in the thousands.
