📢 I found an open-source CapCut alternative with NO watermarks It’s called OpenCut — a free video editor built for creators who want more control without being locked into a subscription. You get: → Multi-track video editing → Audio and timeline editing → A browser-based editing experience → Open-source... code you can inspect and modify → MIT license for using, forking, and building on the project → Local processing designed with privacy in mind And the best part? No watermarks. No subscription. OpenCut is also being rebuilt with a plugin-first architecture, desktop/mobile support, an MCP server for AI agents, automation, and a scripting workflow planned for the new version. You can try the current version today. 🔗 try it: 🔗 Repo: A pretty interesting open-source alternative to CapCutshow more

Something just launched that makes VS Code feel ancient. And im all in for it: Cline Desktop app, an open-source app for open-weight models (and you know how much i love open source) brings its coding agent into a standalone Cline Desktop app for Mac + Windows. Just open a project and tell it what you want to change. No need to open VS Code first. In Cline's demo, it adds priority filters to a task board, works through the code and runs the build. Glad to see the model choice stays open, too. You can bring your own API keys, use supported open-weight models and even switch models halfway through a project!

Your PC can now run an entire AI studio for free. Locally Uncensored puts chat, image generation, video generation, and a coding agent in one desktop app for Windows and Linux. - Chat with local models and your own documents - Generate images and videos on your GPU - Write code and review changes before applying them - Run agents with tools and MCP connections Install it, pick a model, and start. It shows which models fit your hardware before you download. No Docker. No terminal. No cloud required for the local workflows. 100% Free. Open Source.

OpenClaw, but built for normal people. Sim is an open-source platform that lets you build AI agent workflows on a drag-and-drop canvas. Connect them to channels like Telegram and WhatsApp and deploy without writing a single line of code. They also have a built-in Copilot that generates entire workflows from plain English, which you can then tweak and customize in the UI. Key features: - Free and open-source (Apache 2.0) - Vector store integration for RAG-grounded agents - Self-host with one command (`npx simstudio`) - Run fully local with Ollama, no API keys needed - Supports vLLM for production-grade self-hosted inference The thing I really like about Sim is the level of control you get. You can add conditional branching, parallel execution, human-in-the-loop approval gates, and even nest workflows inside other workflows. Everything is visible on the canvas, so you know exactly what your agent is doing at every step. And you can build a workflow in Sim, deploy it as an MCP server, and plug it into any agent, including OpenClaw. I've shared the link to Sim's GitHub repo in the next tweet.

Prompting AI used to mean asking for an output. With GPT-6 Astra + CapCut PC, a prompt can become an editing instruction. Upload the footage, explain the pacing and structure, and Astra can control CapCut PC to turn that direction into an actual timeline. Then I can adjust the result directly... clips, pacing, captions and other elements remain editable. It's a subtle change, but an important one: The prompt doesn't just describe what to generate. It tells AI what to do inside the editing workflow. #GPT6Astra #CapCutPC #AIVideo #Seedance25

Video editing is going free. ICYMI, the stakes are high for CapCut and TikTok US this Friday with the Supreme Court hearing. Regardless of the outcome, Captions App is committed to our mission: making it possible for everyone to share their ideas through video. We’re introducing a free plan on January 19th, making video editing accessible to everyone, regardless of their budget. Best of all, no watermarks.

I've been testing the new Seedance 2.5 model, and it's now available on CapCut. What I like most is that I can generate and edit AI videos in one place instead of switching between different tools. The workflow feels much more seamless, especially when refining longer projects. It also gives creators: → More controllable video generation & editing → Timestamp-based storyline control → Support for up to 50 references → Up to 90-second video generation (30s native + 2 extensions) → Improved multilingual performance Experience Seedance 2.5 on CapCut today: → Try it on the web: → Get the app: #CapCut #Seedance25 #CapCutai #CapCutDidThat

If you want to understand how far AI-assisted game development has moved in less than a year, IsoCity is one of the best examples. The original version took roughly 40–50 hours with Cursor Composer + cloud agents. Its assets were AI-generated, while the game itself grew into a surprisingly deep city simulation with traffic, pedestrians, trains, planes, zoning, resource management, saving, and mobile support. Under the hood: → Next.js 16 → TypeScript → Native HTML5 Canvas rendering → No external game engine → Custom isometric renderer and simulation systems And the best part: the whole project is open source under MIT, so you can study it, fork it, modify it, or use parts of the architecture in your own experiments. The visual jump from that 2025 build to what agents are producing in 2026 is pretty ridiculous. Built by Andrew Milich and contributors. Repo:

I think the real productivity test for AI editing is what happens when you have 30 videos to cut, not one. GPT-6 Astra can control CapCut PC and handle the repetitive first-pass work across editing tasks, turning a workflow that normally has to be repeated manually into something much easier to scale. I can upload the footage, provide the editing instructions, and let Astra process the task — assembling clips, making cuts, adding captions, transitions and audio. Then each project lands as an editable CapCut PC timeline. I can still adjust individual clips, change pacing, and edit captions separately because the elements can stay on different tracks. Edit Pilot gives me another way to handle post-editing changes. Astra makes the repetitive workflow scalable. CapCut PC makes the output customizable. If AI can remove the repetition from editing, maybe the next bottleneck isn't editing speed anymore — it's creative direction. #GPT6Astra #CapCutPC #AIVideo #Seedance25

CCleaner used to be the default way to keep a Windows machine fast. Then it got bought, stuffed with ads and bundled crapware, and in 2017 one release was compromised and shipped malware to over 2 million people. Millions still install it every month because nothing else has really replaced it. So, a team called AdventDev just built a free, open-source replacement. It's called Kudu. Open the app and you get one dashboard for the whole machine. > System cleaner for temp files, logs, caches, and crash dumps. > Browser cleaner across every major browser. > Gaming cleaner for launcher and shader caches. > Registry cleaner for broken and orphaned entries. > Startup manager that shows the actual boot impact of each program. > Disk analyzer with an interactive treemap, so you can see where 40GB quietly disappeared to. > Debloater that rips Windows bloatware out. > Program uninstaller that also removes the leftovers other uninstallers leave behind. Then it does the parts CCleaner never did. A malware scanner with signature matching, heuristic analysis, and Windows Defender integration. A privacy shield that lets you flip 30+ Windows privacy settings from one screen: telemetry, ad ID, Cortana, tracking. Secure delete that overwrites files with random data before removing them, so nothing can recover them later. There's a real-time performance monitor with per-core CPU, memory, disk, network, and S.M.A.R.T. drive health. A one-click restore point before every clean, so you can roll back. Scheduled scans. A CLI mode for people who don't want a GUI. Support for 30 languages. Native app for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Intel and Apple Silicon builds. No ads, no upsells, no telemetry, no account. The cleaning rules are plain JSON files, so if your favorite app isn't covered yet, you can add support for it without writing a line of code. MIT license. 100% Open Source. Repo:

Seedance 2.5 is now on CapCut. We’ve been testing Seedance 2.5 on CapCut, and what impressed us most is how much more control it gives creators. Being able to generate and edit everything in one place makes the workflow feel much faster and more natural. The timestamp-based controls, support for up to 50 references, and video generation of up to 90 seconds are especially useful. We also noticed better multilingual performance, plus viewport rendering and green screen options for more advanced workflows. Definitely a strong update for anyone creating AI video content. If you found this useful, leave a like and retweet it so more creators can discover the update! 🔁 Web: App: #CapCut #Seedance25 #CapCutAI #CapCutDidThat

A useful AI marketing workflow I’ve been seeing: Take a social trend that already has attention → describe the format with a prompt → generate a brand-ready version with Seedance 2.5 → finish it in CapCut PC. The important part is that you’re not locked into the AI output. CapCut PC gives you the timeline control to reshape the video around the product, message, pacing and CTA. #marketing #CapCutPC #AIVideo #Seedance25

MiaoYan is a lightweight, native macOS Markdown editor for writing and notes — one of my open-source macOS projects. It just shipped its biggest update to date, introducing Split View for side-by-side Markdown editing and live preview, with smooth bidirectional scroll sync. This release also brings a full visual refinement, layout cycling between sidebar, list, and focus modes, faster startup with native window animations, and broad performance improvements across editing, preview, and export. Built entirely in Swift, not Electron. MiaoYan is local-first, requires no account, collects no telemetry, and avoids AI features by design. I built it for clean Markdown, performance, and a calm writing environment.

I built a plugin to generate 3D assets directly from Codex, using the latest update that introduces image generation. It generates an image, calls the Tripo3D API, then starts an MCP server and a local viewer directly inside Codex. It uses the paid Tripo3D API (12 free generations, 600 credits included). Everything is open source on my GitHub. Link below. Feel free to contribute. Room for improvement: skeleton/animation support and multi-provider 3D support.

This isn’t a 3D model file. It’s 100% code Our world-famous Mars Cat avatar has been reconstructed entirely as Three.js source code No GLB at runtime. No model download. No textures or UV atlas. Just code, rendered directly in the browser It was created with IMG2THREEJS by Nick. An incredible open-source project with over 15,000 stars on GitHub And our Mars Cat is now featured on the home page gallery See it live below ↓. Grab the code. Add it to your game New to Three.js? It’s one of the most popular open-source JavaScript libraries for building interactive 3D experiences and games on the web

What if aircraft were built like open-source software? Project Caribou is an ambitious open-source effort to build a 200 kg-class heavy-lift hexacopter that anyone can study, improve, and contribute to. The long-term goal is to accelerate the development of larger open-source aircraft and eVTOL platforms. The project targets a ~200 kg maximum takeoff weight with an ~100 kg payload, uses an 18S power architecture, and is built around an ArduPilot-based flight stack. The repository includes CAD models, PCB designs, documentation, and engineering workflows that are evolving in the open. If you are interested in drones, aerospace, robotics, or embedded systems, this is one of the most exciting open-source engineering projects to follow.
