Damn. That had a lot more to it than " posh english actor plays Irish smuggler" led me to expect.

That is a character story. Love it. I hope they don't ruin him.

I really liked this show… but then they go like weirdly hard into the sex at times. Like sex is fine especially when talking about the sex industry of feudal Japan… but did I really need to see the main villains take one of those masks with long noses up the ass?

Oh and he's a good bad guy, you can tell Branagh was enjoying being the villian.

Who wants to explain to Fox News that there’s nothing “deeply offensive” to Irish people about the idea of Rob Kearney beating the hell out of the Black and Tans?! As gaffes in an Irish pub go, it couldn’t have been better if it was scripted. ☘️

FIRST LOOK: Mayday is an upcoming Apple Original featuring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh. It’s an action-comedy set during the Cold War that has Reynolds playing a U.S. Navy pilot stranded behind enemy lines who eventually forms an alliance with a gruff ex-KGB agent (Branagh). This drops on Apple TV on September 4, 2026. I’m not a big Reynolds guy but I am a huge Branagh guy, and for that reason, I’ll consider giving this a shot. But for now? Not added to my watchlist.

People who are an Irish or even half Irish know that they act like this when they found out in some random pub, and not ironically. It's just a very welcoming place.

I wonder if there’s anyone else out there who knows about this scene from the angry birds movie that could only be seen as a dvd extra and basically acts as an additional post-credits scene

Kenneth Branagh’s career is unlike anyone else I can think of & it’s because this is a man who can do everything. Set aside his collaborations with Christopher Nolan, which have become commonplace at this point, Branagh can do comedy, he can do action, he can do Shakespeare - Hell, he can do Harry Potter. There’s no role/film/story that I don’t think Branagh could somehow weave himself into. It’s why I think Mayday (🌟🌟🌟🌟) is one of the year’s biggest surprises. Branagh is allowed to play freely with no rules - he’s exceptional.

Justice Jackson: "So, your point is that a chaotic effort to overthrow the government is not an insurrection?" Jonathan Mitchell: "We didn't conceded that it's an effort to overthrow the government either...this was a riot. It was not an insurrection."

A lot of people asking what this is - this is an eastern blue tongue skink. There’s lots of places in the garden he likes to hang out, a while ago I found that he sneaks out from under the deck and climbs the retaining wall to sunbathe

Donovan Mitchell on ICE: “There’s a human element that gets to me. It's not right that it's desensitized. It’s all bullshit. I pray for everybody that is affected by it and that we figure this out. It's getting out of hand. That can’t be who we are as a country and as people.”

Nolan talking about how he wanted Kenneth Branagh to play Sator as a “rich white middle aged entitled thug” Nolan doesn’t strike me as a race conscious guy so I was kinda shocked when he said this.

“What you all don’t understand about the Portland thing is that this is huge. Donald Trump is going to use this as an example, with the full force of the National Guard. He wants this on TV, he wants it in the newspapers, he wants it on all the Social Media, and he is going to make an example, whether it’s Antifa or any other group that is found out that they are attacking ICE Agents; and he’s going to make an example of them…”
