FOMO beating benefits in a stress-management app is a curious tension. Did it lift trial starts without hurting week-one retention?

the thing that makes this a masterclass isnt any single piece, its that the ad and the onboarding speak the exact same language. the promise that hooks cold traffic in the ad is the same promise the first onboarding screen delivers. most apps have a disconnect there, the ad sells one thing, onboarding shows another, and they lose the exact cold traffic they paid for. the 18M ones nail that handoff. ad to onboarding continuity is the quiet unlock 🔓

This guy took a brand‑new app to #1 overall in the App Store and 1,000,000 downloads in under 3 days. For the FIRST TIME, he breaks down exactly how he did it, and we’re posting the full, RAW conversation right here on X To be clear, this is his first and only podcast on this playbook... And a little more context: this wasn’t luck. Jibran has taken 4 different apps to #1 in the App Store, including one that did $1.5M in 3 days and outranked ChatGPT He did it with a handful of creators, zero paid ads, and a product philosophy that blew my mind Here’s the core of what he taught me: > Your product and your marketing are not two separate things; they're the same thing. > What goes viral on TikTok is product validation. > What you learn from a hit video should change your UI, your App Store screenshots, your icon He ran that loop obsessively.. For his 2025 Wrapped app, he spent hundreds of hours in Figma asking one question: > “How does this look on TikTok?” Then he tracked: 1. What users screenshotted 2. What they shared to Snapchat 3. What slide they dropped off on The result was a #1 overall app in the App Store. Above EVERYTHING. Now he’s building because he realized he was spending hours every day doom‑scrolling TikTok looking for hooks and formats that worked So he built an AI to do it for him: > You tell it your app. > It tells you what to post, what’s trending in your niche, and what’s wrong with your existing videos. We go deep on all of it in this conversation. If you run a consumer app, this is the most useful 49 minutes you’ll spend this week

I just vibe-coded a Meta ad research app in Claude Code 🤯 One keyword search → winning ads analyzed, creative briefs generated, trends mapped, and 10 ad variations written for your brand. All inside Claude Code. Perfect for DTC brands and agencies who are still doing competitor ad research manually inside the Meta Ad Library. If you're clicking through ads one by one, watching videos, taking notes in a Google Doc, trying to reverse-engineer what's working, and then rewriting briefs from scratch every time... This app eliminates the entire loop: → Search and filter winning Facebook ads by niche, country, language, and performance tier → Watch video ads inline without leaving the app → Fetch top-performing ads and generate a full creative brief tailored to your brand → Run a trend radar across 100+ ads to see which formats, CTAs, and landing pages are dominating your niche → Pick any winning video ad and Gemini watches it, reverse-engineers the creative DNA, and generates 10 new ad variations for your product No scrolling the Ad Library for hours. No manual note-taking. No rewriting briefs from scratch. What you get: → Creative briefs generated from real winning ads in your niche → Trend analysis with format distribution, top CTAs, landing page intel, and AI insights → 10 brand-specific ad variations from any winning video — with hooks, scripts, and Nano Banana prompts → A full app you host in Replit and customize for your team Built 100% in Claude Code with the gethookd.ai API + Gemini. I put together a free playbook with every prompt I used to build this app from scratch, so you can build it yourself. Want it for free? > Like this post > Comment "META" And I'll send it over (must be following so I can DM)

We initiated Sansera for our subscribers around 16th December 2025. But the more important thing is how we filtered on this idea. > First key factor we observed was the product mix change, where the company's intent was to gradually move from its ICE component business to Aero/Defence/Semicon (ADS) business. > This product mix shift was visible from the fact that margins had been improving over the last 2 quarters, and growth was starting to pick up. That's how it came under our filters. > Going a little deeper, we understood that the kind of things it was doing in the ADS business were quite moated. It had a single-source monopoly on Airbus A350/A320 thrust-reversal gimbals with zero defects over 12 years; hogging (machining from solid billet vs. forging) is a much harder-to-replicate capability for aerospace tolerances. > Also, in its semiconductor business, it was working with Lam Research, where this year their business is expected to go from $10M to $30M . > Also, as per our channel checks, they had orders/interest from Rolls-Royce for aero-engine feelers, the MMRFIC JV (navy fuses, radars), and a Tesla ESS order. > All these things were a confirmation of our thesis that management has the capabilities, and that the product mix is changing for good. > They have also given strong guidance of ₹8,000 Cr in revenue, with ADS at 20–25% of overall business and blended EBITDA margins moving above the 20% mark. On top of this, we also visited their facility, where we got to understand the manufacturing complexity involved in the components they make for their ADS business, and their capabilities in precision engineering. The framework was simple: through scanning, found a business where earnings were breaking out and margins were improving > went through their earnings calls and found the story of the product mix change > mapped out the value chain and tried to understand Sansera's moat in the new business they were focusing on > visited their facility to verify our thesis on the company. Disclaimer: This is not a recommendation to buy or sell. We continue to hold it in our recommendation portfolio and may change our view at any point in time.

OpenAI, Anthropic and Microsoft all back the same standard for running apps inside AI chats. Booking .com, Figma, and Canva are already using it. Still, most developers have never heard of it. It's called MCP Apps. So, why does it matter? The next time someone buys from your website, they may never visit it. They'll ask ChatGPT or Claude, and the model decides how your product shows up. Usually as plain text, sometimes wrong, with none of the experience you built. That's the next shift in how people find you: - SEO was about Google finding your page. - AEO was about AI citing you. - MCP Apps are about your actual product showing up inside the chat. An MCP server returns data. An MCP App returns data plus an interactive UI, like hotel cards or an add-to-cart flow, right inside the chat. The model even knows what the user clicked. In this episode, we build an MCP app from start to finish with Julien, the lead maintainer of Skybridge, an open-source framework that lets you turn any React app into an MCP app. Chapters: 0:00 - Intro 2:44 - MCP servers vs MCP Apps 5:12 - Live demo: Booking .com in ChatGPT 9:24 - How MCP Apps work: context and shared state 15:43 - Skybridge and its devtools 17:48 - Live demo: an e-commerce app in ChatGPT 24:49 - Code walkthrough: MCP tools to React views 28:10 - Syncing UI state: "What's in my cart?" 32:16 - Agent skill to turn any React app → MCP App 37:52 - Outro Link to Skybridge GitHub repo: MCP Apps bring your website into the chat. WebMCP does the reverse and lets AI agents use your website through tools it exposes. I've also written a full article on it, quoted below.

In the crowded subscription app economy, building a great product is no longer enough. As AI has made software significantly faster, easier, and cheaper to build, the primary bottleneck has shifted from product development to distribution. As the serial entrepreneur behind multiple breakout Health & Fitness apps like Fitstar and Zero, Mike Maser has experienced this challenge firsthand. Over the last 15 years, Mike sold his first startup called FitStar to Fitbit, was diagnosed with stage four cancer, made an incredible recovery that he attributes in part to intermittent fasting, and then teamed up with Kevin Rose to build Zero, the world’s #1 fasting app that he has since scaled to $5M+ in ARR and over 10 million registered users. Now, he's navigating Zero through its biggest disruption yet - the rise of GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy and the ripple effects they are having on the entire fasting category. Mike breaks down: - Why Zero’s simple one-screen MVP was critical for generating early momentum - How a single tweet from Elon Musk drove $1M in revenue for Zero in 24 hours - Shifting from organic virality to building a sophisticated growth and monetization engine - How Zero adapted its strategy to the GLP-1 era by helping GLP-1 patients track their hydration and manage their protein intake to maintain muscle mass - Zero’s ongoing strategies to reduce subscriber churn and build lifetime subscriber value (0:00) Introduction (2:54) What Zero is and how it created the fasting app category (3:50) Why Mike started building health and fitness apps (10:29) How Mike sold Fitstar while battling stage four cancer (14:57) How intermittent fasting helped Mike beat cancer (18:32) Why Mike took over the Zero app from Kevin Rose (20:53) Why Zero kept its initial app extremely simple (24:53) How Zero's early adopters helped drive initial growth (26:48) How Zero built trust and credibility with early adopters (29:18) How Elon's tweet drove $1M ARR for Zero in one day (32:27) Why GLP-1 medications are reshaping Zero's strategy (36:14) How Zero helps GLP-1 patients protect muscle (42:03) How GLP-1s have expanded Zero's business model (44:41) The loops that will drive Zero's next phase of growth (47:39) Lightning round

Introducing Icon, the world’s first AI CMO (Chief Marketing Officer): it can plan, create, & run 1000s of winning ads end-to-end. We're backed by Peter Thiel's Founders Fund & execs of frontier AI labs like OpenAI (ChatGPT), Cognition, & Pika. How it works: 1. Connect Icon to your Meta Ad Account & Google Drive. It’ll use your ad account data & existing assets for planning & making ads. 2. Icon finds 100 winning ad concepts daily. It does this by scanning websites (yours & competitors), competitor ads, customer reviews, ad account performance, & more. It comes up with 3 types of ads: "Competitor Clone," "New Concept," & "Winner Iteration." You can copy what worked for competitors, try fresh approaches, & scale your winners. 3. Icon turns winning concepts into ads better than ChatGPT. Say you’re trying to copy a competitor’s before-and-after style ad. ChatGPT would make up random before-and-after scenarios & get your product dimensions wrong. Icon has a reasoning layer on top of GPT-4o that deeply studies the ad for minutes. It understands that it needs to make before-and-after scenarios using real insights from your website, product descriptions, & reviews. Icon gets ad intent, while ChatGPT only sees pixels. 4. Launch ads into your ad accounts with 1 click for less than $1. Before Icon, you’d launch 10 ads per week. Now you can launch 1000 ads per week & get more winners. Everything in my life has led up to this. At 18, I had to support myself. I had to live with my parents to save money. And no one thought I’d go anywhere. I really hated this, so I worked 100-hour weeks until I destroyed coding interviews. Soon after, I dropped out to join Pinterest at 19. After being a minion at Pinterest, I quit cold turkey & started my 1st company Skio. I then fluked into Y Combinator as a solo founder & completely failed during the batch. Thankfully, pivoting worked well ($15M+ ARR & profitable). But it’s not over yet. I have a massive chip on my shoulder that I must fix with Icon. So far, so good: we went from $0 to $5M ARR in our first 30 days. I know I’m not supposed to say this publicly, but I want to make Icon the greatest company of all time. I want to deliver insane value to our customers. I want to create generational wealth for my team & investors. I want to break the $0 to $100M ARR world record. And I’m putting my money where my mouth is: I just bought for $12M. If you've read this far, I want to say thank you with a gift 👇 We have an internal Google Drive with 1000+ static winning ads & 1000+ winning video ads. These ads have driven >$1.3B revenue in the last 6 months. We trained AI CMO on these ads. I’m pretty sure the right person could make $100K+ by just copying them. Retweet this & comment “Icon” and I’ll send you the Google Drive link for free.

I built an Agency Client Finder in Claude Code that finds DTC brands who need a creative agency, and writes the pitch for you 🤯 Drop in a niche → it scans the Meta Ad Library, finds brands that are spending on ads but running weak creative, and hands you a ranked prospect list with a tailored pitch for each. All inside Claude Code. Perfect for agencies who are great at the work but terrible at the pipeline. The hardest part of running an agency was never the creative, it's finding clients who actually need you AND have the budget to pay. So you cold-DM brands that ignore you, scrape LinkedIn for "Head of Growth" titles, and pitch brands that already have an agency or no budget at all. This finds the ones already raising their hand: → Drop in your niche (skincare, supplements, coffee, pet, men's grooming…) → It scans every brand running ads in the Meta Ad Library → Scores each one: spending on ads, but weak creative — low volume, stale, catalog-only, no video → Pulls their actual ad creatives and critiques them like a creative director → Looks up each brand's email + website so you can actually reach them → Hands you a ranked list with the evidence, a pitch, and the contact info No cold-list spray-and-pray. No pitching brands with no budget. No guessing who actually needs you. What you get: → A ranked list of brands spending on ads but starved for creative → Their real ads, with the exact creative gap named for each → A tailored pitch angle per brand — walk into the call with the evidence → Their actual email + website, so it's an outreach list, not a research list → Run it on any niche, any market, in minutes Built 100% in Claude Code, on the Meta Ad Library. I put together a step-by-step playbook showing you how to build this: the Ad Library scrape, the scoring, the whole pipeline. Want the playbook for free? > Like this post > Comment "CLIENTS" And I'll send it over (must be following so I can DM)
