I genuinely can't understand how the current generation saw this in 2017 and said, "This sucks."

because it is friggin terrible. if you base your opnion strictly on visuals then sure, its a beautiful film. But most of us look at the actual story and realize it is terrible

I still remember seeing this completely unspoiled and the shock that came with it, because I’d been comfortable thinking we were just reusing the structure of the OT. How could this happen NOW?? And god, Johnson’s staging is so good, Williams’ score so perfect. A+++ moment.

Because it fucking sucks, those guys are moving like imbeciles, waiting their turn, intentionally missing, rotating like drunk.

All the scenes that precede it and come after it

Such retarded 'choreography.' I'd be ashamed if I wrote a climactic action scene that was half this bad. Why didn't she just switch the lightsaber off for a moment, ending the guard's silly whip's grip, and reignite? Reasons? This was classic TTRPG strategy.

Yo it’s like worse than awful. I hate everything about it and would even take years off my life to erase it from existence.

Bc they digitally edited out dual-wield-bro’s second knife when he had Rey in a choke hold.

Because at this point, midway through their second film, a viewer should care about the protagonist(s).

I regret starting this format trend

Imagine building up a villain as the big bad of the trilogy, only to kill him off in the second movie in the laziest way possible.

Because it’s one of the worst movies ever made

Point 1, the surrounding movie is terrible. Point 2 though, take a minute to rewatch this a few times, and each time just pick one guard, any guard. Follow that guard through the sequence and try to think of explanations for why they’re doing what they’re doing.

You missed the "Luke milks aliens" bit, apparently. As well as "Leia cosplays Mary Poppins"

Top notch = John Wick choreography, this ain't even close.

The story was leftist propaganda and completely shit.

Are you a bot or just retarded? This looks ridiculous and choreographed.

Nobody hated THIS or the subsequent throne room fight. What they hated was everything else… Rian Johnson tossing every plot point from the prior movie away just to troll the audience in the name of “subverting expectations.”

This was a very cool scene, and what surrounded it was terrible (just like the light speed ship scene). This was understood then and now. You’re either unaware of this or using this post as bait.

Really?

It is one of the best Star Wars movies of all time. #lastjedi

Top notch choreography, pacing and directing is solid. Better than prequel slop, but still "meh" because the story is recycled, uninspired original trilogy call backs.

That scene is good. The movie sucks

Because Luke trained his ass off to become a great Jedi and Rei gets good in like 1 day? Fucking movie sucked and I'll never watch it a second time.

Forget the choreography. Why are these blank slates fighting when the person they’re guarding is already dead, by the hand of their second in command? They exist purely for our protagonists to slaughter them. In the Lucas films even battle droids had more autonomy than this.

You want me to write a list of why the film sucked?

Because it's overly scripted, overly rehursed, and is monotonous until the very end. The antagonists have no character, are unimportant to the story, and have absolutely no stake in the fight. The setting is boring, too. I've seen better fights in Krull.

I was more upset by the casino planet subplot. Just felt so out of place. However, that fight was both cool and had questionable choreography. If Carrie doesn’t pass, and a proper sequel is produced, I think TLJ is more appreciated. Unfortunately it just felt like a dud to me

- Evil guy strong enough in the force to evade Sidious and take over the Imperial Remnant somehow can't sense a lightsaber moving next to him. - Girl that just discovered the force and picked up a lightsaber two days ago is fighting like a fully trained knight. Yeah, top tier

A true Jedi ain’t letting a rope-coil saber compromise their ability to fight, with or without the Jedi’s lightsaber. Never seen a more obvious time to use a force attack on an opponent 😆

I genuinely can't understand how people saw this in 2017 and said "This is good."

The only sequel trilogy movie I liked but would’ve been 10/10 if Leia was the one who light speeded into the ship

The sequel trilogy is awful because of how they treated Luke Skywalker, and how they tried to revisit the past rather than come up with new storylines. It was such a wasted opportunity.

We're not whitewashing The Last fucking Jedi. We can find things to like about the Prequel Trilogy. But the Sequel Trilogy was just a death march of retardation from start to finish, and Rian Johnson is a fraud who exists solely to piss people off and destroy film as a medium.

What was done to Luke Skywalker destroyed the franchise. Many people don’t like this film for this reason
