Kobe just went to 3 straight Finals and B2B chips with players not nearly as good as Peak Wade. And just to ensure Lebron would make it easy... to finally win his first chip, they added a Franchise player in Chris Bosh as a 3rd option. AND HE STILL FOLDED. Kobe was winning back to back FMVPs with Pau Gasol as his second option. And Lebron was losing the Finals with peak Wade and Bosh as a 3rd option. There’s no way in Hell Lebron was better than Kobe between 2008-2011. Because 2011 he proved he wasn’t even better than Dwayne Wade. Go home Nick Wright. Although these players gave good contributions, I’m not sure we’ve seen any megastar win more with less in a 3-year span. 3 straight trips to the Finals out of the West. Back to back chips with a good but not elite roster. Kobe doesn’t get enough credit for doing what nobody thought he could do which was win without Shaq. And he did it back to back.

Admitted LeBron is the GOAT Stan Van Gundy said “we wanted LeBron to score”. LeBron’s 38PPG was surely a feat against Orlando but he still was not the best player in the league. As the Magic still punished the Cavs and beat them in 6 and would have been 5 if not a great buzzer beater from LeBron. LeBron was also a -7 for the series. But when then Magic faced Kobe they were pretty much dominated because Kobe was the scoring engine and a threat all around the court. So the Magic could not just load up on the Lakers role players because Kobe’s action was putting so much pressure on them. They had to watch Kobe when he was around his spots in the mid-range and it often led to Pau Gasol having more one on ones in the post and even slashing and getting easy hand-offs from Kobe. Kobe averaged 32PPG with 7.4 assists and was a +49 for the series. It was total domination when he was on the court. He opened up everything and his action was way too much for the Magic. There was no defense for Kobe at this time in his career. He was the best player in the league which is why he went to 3 straight finals out of the gutter Western Conference and won back to back with Pau Gasol as his running mate

Lebron averaged 19.5PPG on 41/27/65 splits in 2 Finals between 2006 - 2011. Lebron at no point between 2006 - 2011 could be even close to Kobe Bryant with that type of output. Kobe Won 2 rings in 6 years with Pau as his second option. Just 6 years. Kobe was peaking for like 14-15 years in his career. The Gasol years aren’t even half of Kobe’s peak. How you win matters, what you do after losing matters. Creating a superteam in an already weak conference in your prime should always be a disqualification from GOAT discussions. Kobe didn't run after losing to the Celtics in 2008, he ran it back and got his revenge in 2010 vs Boston. He won back to back championships w/o Shaq, He won w/o a superteam and top75 teammates, he actually elevated his teammates and didn't make them change up their game. Paul Pierce acknowledges how great Pau was because they ran thru him in 2008 and but saw a major difference in his attitude and mentality in the 2010 Finals. LeBron James here is talking about how great the Celtics were with 4 All-Stars but he had to run to a Finals MVP and another top 5 member of his draft class to start winning rings. Respectfully, LeBron going to 8 straight finals is the most overrated feat in recent sports history. The Cavaliers GM is putting boys on game letting yall know straight up that LeBron was gifted the Eastern conference and it’s the only reason he made the Finals so many years in a row. But the only thing is that he’s forgetting that LeBron also hand-picked superstar players to play with him while being in that weak Eastern conference. He actually plucked franchise players from the East like Bosh and Wade and other budding stars like Kyrie, and made sure these stars were on his team which didn’t allow for balance in an already weak eastern conference. Stars like Paul George had to go up against the Lebron/Bosh/Wade 2012, 2013, 2014 Miami Heat team and then the 2017 Cavs team with LeBron/Kyrie/Love in the playoffs 😩🤣 Derrick Rose had to go up against PEAK 2011 Superteam Heat in the 2011 playoffs.
