🐻: a [life] tip for someone turning 20? well… this is more of a lifelong tip than specifically for your 20s, but you have to life doing all the things you want! of course we can’t always be only doing the things that we want, but whenever possible, try turning the things you do into what you wanna do or doing the things that are actually aligned with what you like. i think it’d be good to fill in your life with the things you wanna do as much as possible 🐻: would life become more enjoyable once i turn 30? hmm, nope! [now that i think about it,] it wasn’t turning 30 that was important for me. i just happened to find my turning point and felt better in my 30s, but if it’s not the case for you, i think life turns more enjoyable the moment you make up your mind and determination. though it just sounds like a mere mindset difference, isn’t that the hardest part? it’s definitely not easy 🐻: “can you tell me that i’m doing well?”—you’re doing well! but i don’t think me telling you those words is what’s important because won’t it truly be more meaningful if it’s you who lives believing in your own self? i’ve also come to live that way now, though i know that’s something really hard to do… but still, i realised that’s the best way. making even a slight shift to our mindset’s so hard, isn’t it? 🐻: “what should i do if i don’t have confidence?”—keep doing it until you have that confidence or try your best to put aside all the reasons you’re unconfident. you’ll surely gain confidence that way, though of course, support from the people around you helps with confidence boost too. for example, i initially started believing that i might actually be better than how i viewed myself because my days believe in me, but in the long run, i have to be the one building my own confidence up. i think it’s most important that you recognise and validate your own self in the end! 🐻: “i’m afraid of the future”—you can be. i think i’ve said this before, but nothing changes even if we’re afraid. if you’re afraid of something that’s inevitably gonna happen, contemplating about it allows for good preemptive measures instead, but for all those minor worries? i think it’s better to take action after those things do happen, since i heard 90% of the things we worry about won’t actually happen. it’ll be okay, i believe

I want to preface this with the following: I know that streaming in public is going to cause passersby to be curious, ask what you're doing, or even ask to be on camera. I am not opposed to this, and I understand that filming in public is opening myself up to situations like this. But I also try to be low-key and keep others out of frame while I am doing my IRL streams. I try to make it clear that I am not trying to be a "spectacle" type of IRL stream. Now for the context of this clip. I was IRL streaming at the mall and was being followed and harassed by a group of about 6 teenagers the entire time I was there. In this clip, you can hear them screaming because they knew I was coming and they wanted to cause a scene. You can also hear them yelling at me saying "let me be on your twitch". They then proceeded to hunt me down the rest of the time I was at the mall. I've been IRL streaming for three years and this week I have experienced more harassment from people (exclusively teenagers) than I have in the past three years combined. I understand that a lot of kids are being exposed to live streaming, and it's probably exciting to them to see a streamer in the wild, but when did kids become so rude and demanding? I know I'm an adult and they're just kids, but it's still unnerving to be followed and yelled at by a group of people regardless of their age.

I love this idea from Jason Fried "Your only competition is your costs." Keep costs low, keep the team small, make stuff you want to use. You don't need the whole world: “A business is very simple. You got to make more than you spend. If you're making more than you spend, then your competition is your cost. That's what you're really in business against, how much it costs you to stay in business. It's not all the other alternatives that are on the market. You can't control what they're going to put out there, what they're going to price it at, all the things they're going to do. They're going to do what they're going to do. What I can control is how much it costs me to run my business, how much I sell my product for, and as long as I make more than I spend, I get to stay in business. Not sacrifice your love and your care and your empathy, but you got to get tough. And then we have to figure out how to love the people who are cynical because I don't think there's a ton of bad people in the world and I don't think there's a ton of bad people on teams. But I do think there are people who've been burned out. I do think there are people who have been through things in their lives. They've been through things in their company. They're experiencing stuff somewhere else. For whatever reason, they just kind of got run down and cynical and negative, or whatever. Or they're just wired a little different than we are. And I don't to hate on those people. I want to win those people. They don't have to be like me. They don't have to have my energy. But I want those people on my team. I want to love those people. This happens all the time! This is why I feel like I'm not worth myself! This is why I feel like I cant grow! This is twitch actively nerfing my account every time I go live! The audience didn't leave they were still in the chat! When I asked twitch for help, I got an automated incomplete response that said "everything looks" . I am so tired of fighting this and have pleaded with twitch, Daniel Clancy and have told the VP FACE TO FACE about this issue and still nothing has been done! Why? I'm small potatoes no one cares and no one will even put an iota of time into solving this issue! This has been a constant every day for over 2 years and I cannot express how defeated I absolutely feel every time I press start to immediately have my audience ignored by twitch. I know some of you are going to say its not all about the numbers and if you enjoy it, it shouldn't matter. Unfortunately the ultimate truth is we are heavily judged on our CPM by everyone, potential partners, sponsors, collaborative opportunities and even by twitch themselves. So yes, it does matter. It matters a lot and worst part is no one, will take this issue seriously! I have literally 120 days of information from twitches 9th longest subathon (unrecognized of course as again small potatoes) that would absolutely show this being a consistent issue. I don't know what to do, I am at wits end here and I every time I see this happen to me I just want to curl up into a ball and let the world wash over me. I need help, i need someone to look at this, because I have dedicated my life to entertaining individuals and I do this full time, I dedicate 8 hours a day every day for the past 2 years to this company and the only thing I get is ignored. I know this is a lot and it looks like just some random person complaining, but I need some way to get this in the right hands and not the automated jarble that I've been getting. Its even been acknowledged in the past by a tech for twitch that something might be up. Again, I know I'm not big but were all working under the same logo and should all be taken care of equally!
