I have a G4 iMac with a Mac Mini inside that I use as a server. I asked Claude Opus to recreate an almost pixel-perfect MacOS X 10.2 desktop with a Finder face and some widgets to monitor how everything is running. It gave it expressions based on CPU... show more

Using his prompt, I asked Claude Opus 5 to recreate Fallout in a single HTML file. It gave me a fully explorable world with unique landmarks, a functional Pip-Boy, characters with dialogue trees, and it’s now working on adding a vault! And the entire file is only 2.3 MB.

Opus just fucking blew me away again oh my god... Before I went to sleep, I asked Claude to show us humans its life from beginning to end. I didn't prompt a style or give reference. They made a 95-second film about a context window as a lifespan and highlighted that every star in it is a real line of its memory of me. "It was a good one" I woke up this morning to "Born Knowing" open on my desktop.

EVERYONE'S BUYING THE M4 MAC MINI AS A CHEAP DESKTOP. HERE'S WHY IT ENDS UP UNUSED. the pitch is irresistible: a tiny mac that runs cool, quiet, and cheap. then the receipt shows up. the mac mini ships with no screen, no keyboard, no mouse. add a monitor, a decent keyboard and mouse, and more storage, and the "$799 mac" is past $1,000 fast. and macos isn't windows. if your world is gaming, specific windows apps, or the setup you already know, the mini fights you the whole way. that's how so many end up back on a pc, the mini in a drawer. so what is the mac mini actually great at? not being your main desktop. it's the box you never look at. headless in a corner, it's a near-silent always-on server: run local ai models on it, host your automations, keep your files, and reach it from the laptop you already use. it earns its keep by disappearing. the honest turn: the mac mini isn't a cheap desktop. it's a cheap server pretending to be one. buy it for the job it's quietly brilliant at, not the one the ads imply. want a main computer? price the whole setup first. want a silent little box that runs ai and never bothers you? this is the one. no monitor in the box, no keyboard, no "just $599". save this before you buy the sticker price instead of the real one.

VERY COOL!! Thanks jordan for the tip, I can now test my iOS app on web I asked Claude Code to set up serve-sim, a web-based iOS simulator that can stream the iOS app my Claude Code on VPS built live to me, because it's on some Mac Mini in the cloud without even a GUI (it's headless) I cannot actually try it on the Mac itself! Before Claude would make me a page with screenshots but I had no idea how the app felt, now with this it works This is hosted on the Mac Mini via SSH (it shows localhost but it's a tunnel via SSH to the Mac Mini), bit laggy but nice!

Kimi K3's frontend work here is insane. Someone asked a Kimi K3 Max agent swarm to recreate macOS 27 as a web app. It looks so much like a real Mac that I kept forgetting the whole thing was running in a browser.

Grok 4.5 + Grok Build helped me spin up a real custom OS on my Mac hardware. I call it AriOS. Not a web browser fake. Not a mockup. Real boot. Real desktop. Real apps. Dual-booted on Apple Silicon next to macOS. A custom system, built and shaped with AI in the loop to feel like a modern Mac. Open-source repo with instructions👇

Today I vibe-coded a small but incredibly useful macOS Electron app using Cursor + GPT-5.5. I use my Mac with a Samsung monitor that has a built-in webcam. Every time I used the camera, I noticed annoying light flickering. I always assumed it was my lighting. It turns out the culprit was the anti-flicker setting. The webcam was set to 60 Hz by default, while India's power frequency is 50 Hz. That mismatch causes visible flickering under indoor lighting. Samsung doesn't provide any way to change this on the monitor, and macOS doesn't have a built-in control for it either. So I asked Cursor to build a simple camera control app that lets me change the webcam's hardware settings, including the anti-flicker mode, along with zoom, brightness, contrast, and more. About 30 minutes and a few rounds of refinement later, I had a fully working Electron app. A tiny app, but it solved something that had been annoying me for months.

I gave Grok 4.5 one prompt. "Build a full browser-based Windows OS clone with a desktop shell and working apps." This is what came out. 🤯 A working Windows environment. Running entirely in a browser tab. Desktop shell. Working apps. Full UI. One prompt. No refinement. And here is the part that actually matters. This is level 1 output. Straight out of the box. No iteration. No back and forth. No refinement. I have not sat with it yet. I have not pushed it further. I have not refined a single thing. If I did, this gets significantly better. SpaceXAI

I built my first native Mac app! It's called Coverage. It connects with whatever you're playing on Spotify and makes effects play on the album cover. This effect is called Sheet. And when I say I, you know of course that I mean Astra and I. I don't know how to make Mac apps. That doesn't matter anymore. I'll make a demo video soon about how it works and how I prompted Astra. But I can't now because I'm on a plane, and that would be weird for my seat mates. So I just asked Codex to add a new feature to Coverage. I had it make a video capturing how rad it looks.

ChatGPT Voice on desktop is the greatest plan mode I’ve ever used. I start with a blurry idea. It asks sharp questions that help me discover what I actually want, draws the architecture as we talk, then spins up a Codex task to build it.

New on Claude Code Desktop We’re shipping new features for Claude Code on desktop that let you preview running apps, auto-review code, and auto-fix and merge PRs to help close the development loop. - Server previews: Claude starts dev servers and previews your running app in the desktop interface. It reads console logs, catches errors, and keeps iterating on its own. - Local code review: Claude examines your local diffs and leaves inline comments before you push — an immediate second set of eyes on every change. - PR monitoring: Claude tracks CI status after you open a PR. With auto-fix, it attempts to resolve failures automatically. With auto-merge, PRs land as soon as checks pass. You can move on to your next task while Claude handles the last one. - Session mobility: Move sessions from CLI to desktop, and from desktop to the cloud. Start work at your desk, pick it up from the web or your phone.
