I have a plan that will lock home loans in at 3% interest for first-time homebuyers, lowering your mortgage payments by $1,000 a month — and it won’t cost the government a cent. Check it out. #Kennedy24

This takes the policies that created skyrocketing tuitions and healthcare costs, and the resultant debt bubbles for both, and brings them to the housing market. It will drive up housing prices even further, put more Americans in more personal debt, raise our national debt even further, and increase inflation due to the Fed printing out more money to cover the debt. Blackrock and Vanguard would easily be the biggest winners in this. The rest of us would lose big.

Break up Black Rock, Vanguard & other real estate monopolies and fine them $Trillions for price fixing & monopolistic actions that have crippled the R.E. market.

Artificially low interest rates are exactly why the housing market is in the disastrous state it's currently in.

I support your run but this isn't good policy, just more big government subsidizing of res real estate. Uncle Sam already cosigns most home loans through Fannie/Freddie which is one reason housing is so overvalued. We need policy to BRING PRICES DOWN not encourage indebtedness.

We need the government to stay out of the mortgage business IMO

Exactly right re: Blackrock & Fed debasing the $ supply. One nagging problem is that Uncle Sam in not a rich uncle. He's 33 Trillion $ in debt and facing a sovereign debt crisis that is blowing up the bond market. Either it crashes or Fed starts printing again = more inflation.

The prices will be still be high and those buyers will be stuck in those homes because buying a bigger property in 5 years when they begin to have a family will come with a normal mortgage rate which will be north of 3%. Look at a federal land value tax to get more housing supply across the country. We can then remove the income tax and payroll tax - which penalizes income generation and requires a large bureaucracy to collect and audit people. It also incentivizes tax avoidance and built the tax advisor/accounting industry that add no absolute value to society.

This isn't the way. This will artificially push home prices even higher. Let the free market do its thing. Companies with large portfolios of real estate will be forced to adjust prices when people can't afford rents or mortgages, or face being stuck with massive losses. We need to stop kicking the can down the road.
