Okay I spun it off as a Quake 1 web-based multiplayer game + server you can play now at: 👉 👈 It still works via null modem and you get instantly paired to another player (if there is somebody) and it's just a 16mb download of Quake 1 demo instead of the whole 400mb pieter .com drive If you open the URL both in the same time you probably get paired together and can death match! There is quite some latency because every package goes through my server and Quake 1 did not have client-side prediction yet (which is what Quake World added later), I'l try get QW running to see if it improves it a bit Group multiplayer can come but for that I need to see if I can get actual COM1 modem connection working not just a null modem! Here I'm playing a local LAN death match with Javi Lopez ⛩️ on a game from 1996 in a web browser via a COM1 serial port tunneled via Websockets over the internet! 🤓

🔌Today I created a virtual web-based null modem so now you can finally play Quake 1 (from 1996) in multiplayer in the browser with other people online! This week I was able to create a virtual printer that listens on the COM2 port to make a web-based printer work in Windows 3.11, like on you can actually print to, it was one of my ideas when I started but it was always too difficult to make, I had no idea where to start, but this week AI was able to do it! Today I woke up and thought "if we can listen to COM2 via JS, how about listen to COM1 from Quake 1?" then we could forward the COM1 data via Websockets and to another user to create a virtual null modem (A null modem was a cable you'd use to connect two computers to each other directly in the 90s, if you couldn't afford buying a network card you'd use this to network, but you could only play with one other computer not multiple) So I built it, it took about an hour and works! I wanted to get Quake 1 in DOS to work with multiplayer for 2 years but I could never get it to work, but now it did it This project is a good benchmark of how capable AI is becoming, figuring stuff out that humans would take months within an hour You can try it here, I don't know how it will match lots of people but let's see, you have to exit to DOS first (ALT-F4 or FN-Option-F4 on Mac), then type CD games, then CD quake, then quake, then ESC, then Multiplayer, then either Create New Game or Join Game, and use Direct Connect, keep settings same and you're in!

I normally don't like plugging on an AI chat into my projects, because it's seems too easy and basic I think you should instead rebuild entire projects from the ground up to be AI first, not just add some AI button But in this case is already AI from the ground up (it collects data and rates hotels with AI), so here it makes sense I think So you can now can talk to the hotel assistant and ask it to find hotels with a 🏋️‍♀️weightlifting gym, ✨newly built, 🔝highly rated or ones that have 🥯 cinnamon rolls for breakfast 😋 And it controls the site, moves the map, opens hotels for you! Hope you like it 😊😊😊 P.S. it doesn't make money, it's just my contribution for now to fight the enshittification and get you a good hotel for a good price!

🚁 My war drone simulator Apocalypse Drone now has support for 32 players! I also made it Conquest/CTF so you have multiple bases that you have to capture, each round the map is procedurally generated and random so every time it's different (like Battlefield) There's still some bugs to work out and most importantly I have to figure out soldier animations, because they're fixed models now But I have got really far this time I think and coding with AI is really way further than it was a year ago, you mostly notice that how few times you get stuck, only one time this month building this I got stuck which was today where I moved the AI players to the server and they kept showing up as invisible, very buggy, every time I told it that it couldn't fix it though Then I asked it to fundamentally analyze the current server-side AI player code and make it work like industry standard, and it took a long time and fixed everything Last year I'd get stuck hundreds of times and the AI just couldn't get itself out of a hole, but now it can I think it's impressive that just last year only for the first time we could make actual games with AI But this year as non-game dev, I can get pretty close to the level of a multiplayer game from 20y ago (like Battlefield 1942, that lots of ideas here are based on, but with drones :D) Obviously we're still far away from AAA (I hate that term though) but the curve of exponential progress is there again, as it was in AI image generation, then video, and now code, first bad, then better, then good enough! And it understands you and you can be really vague about things like "move this" , modify the color "here" and it will understand what you are pointing at. Im loving using it and I built it for myself as I was tired of clicking screenshots all the time and attaching it to my codex or claude code sessions Now I can just point, speak or type and drag and drop it anywhere I am giving free access to it in the comments and I would love for you to try it out. I'm up late with the rest of you building AI agents with the new AI browser from Genspark. We can see where this is all going: a new kind of operating system -- one that is very different than the Microsoft centric way that I've been working for 20 years. There are several things that these new agentic browsers bring to you: 1. They let you change how you browse. With an old browser like Google Chrome, you go to your email, Facebook, or X. 2. With these new browsers, you tell it where to go and what to do for you. 3. It can even build software for you. At the end of this video, I have it building me a little YouTube uploading utility, which is very helpful. 4. They have a ton of "applications" built in. Think of it as a new kind of office suite. Docs. Spreadsheets. Slide decks. And much more. All built with AI, not bolted on the side like with Microsoft's Office. 5. They have AI models built "underneath" so you can work privately and cheaply. There’s a lot of new choices you have to make with browsers like this. I’ve been playing with a bunch of them. Some have better user interfaces than others. Some have different versions, slide components, or applications. The reason I like Genspark is because they ship so fast. I’ve been watching this company since its very beginnings, and every week they ship new things. Just yesterday, they shipped a new photo editing feature for my iPhone. I upload a photo and then I can just talk to it and edit it with my voice. It's really cool. I try to reward companies that ship at such a fast rate and that are shipping innovation that improves our lives. It's not that I'm going to stop using Google Chrome. My whole life has been there for, I don't know, almost 20 years now. This is a different way of working and it gives me a space to run my AI tasks that's different than Google Chrome. I run them side by side. One doing old stuff, one doing new stuff. I can keep using Google Chrome for my old stuff, like my email and my calendar. And I use GenSpark or one of the new AI browsers to do new AI-centric things. All sorts of new things that these new agentic browsers open up! Have you tried it, or one of the other new ones yet? How has it changed your work? It takes a little time to get used to AI-centric ways of doing things. Pretend your browser is a team of interns. Give them a task, in this case I said "help me upload my videos to YouTube." You might be shocked at what Genspark does to improve your life. I am everytime I use it. Give it a try and let me know what you think! Oh, and I used another little tool to "write" this post. Typeless -- I push a button and talk and it writes. ✨ You can design a new AI influencer from scratch based on your preferences of how they look They can look any way you want, from young to old, slim to big, short to tall. and you don't need to upload any photos cause they're synthetically generated And I made it so you get a live preview while designing it (another idea I had during my sleep last night :D) Then after you press [ Create model ], it builds up your character, generates some sample photos and then you can start taking your own photos and videos with it Or run a photo pack if you don't want to write prompts

Made a unity tool to be able to mess much more with .unitypackages You can: - see all the files in it with thumbnails - add and remove files from it - drag and drop specific files in the project + it should be easily usable programmatically by other tools ^^ ⬇️ Link bellow
