Matt Damon "lost a ton of weight" for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and cut down to 167 pounds. "Nolan wanted me lean but strong. I stopped eating gluten. I used to walk around at between 185 and 200. I haven’t been that light since high school.”

Matt Damon admits Anne Hathaway was so charming that he got completely lost in her eyes in The Odyssey, saying, “I looked in your eyes and that was it. I got transported.” Nolan was excited after seeing the dailies, while Damon said, “That was Annie!”

Good Will Hunting has been front-of-mind ever since seeing Matt Damon absolutely crush it in The Odyssey. I think Hunting, The Odyssey & The Talented Mr. Ripley are the three best performances of Damon’s career. Damon’s intelligence as an actor has served him in multiple areas over the course of his career. It’s on full display in this film.

Matt Damon didn’t even receive an Oscar nomination for The Departed, which is relevant as his stars in The Odyssey next week, a film that might earn Damon his first acting Oscar. Damon’s quietly been snubbed by the Academy a handful of times over the course of his career & this might be the most egregious. He holds this entire film together along with Leo.

Matt Damon could very well win his first acting Oscar for The Odyssey. He’s overdue. A reminder that Damon crushed Ridley Scott’s 2021 film The Last Duel. Damon was also great in this year’s heist thriller The Rip with Ben Affleck. Damon’s clearly still got a lot left in the tank

Tom Holland on his “wow moment” in ‘THE ODYSSEY’: “There’s meeting Chris for the first time, reading the script, showing up on set, working with Annie, and Matt, and all of these amazing people. But watching the movie, I haven’t asked myself this question for a long time since I’ve been watching movies, which is ‘How did you do that?’”
