This guy was walking his three dogs on the trail when suddenly a dog with no owner in sight appeared. The dog seems friendly enough. His dogs sniff around as is common. The owner was a little upset she was unaccompanied. I think she was saying “hey, I heard this is where all the boys are at!”😂 That’s Lassie telling you her owner has fallen down a well! 😂💯 Rough Collie’s or long haired Collies as some call them used to be everywhere when I was growing up. Maybe it’s just the areas I have lived in now but I don’t see them as much. Is there a more beautiful dog than these Rough Long- Haired Collies? Gorgeous dog!

This is about 30% of the operations we run and it’s growing fast to help more dogs. I’d love to say it was getting quiet for the holidays but the dogs still need us. Laura Wasser says I'm shocked that anyone looks at that. First of all, this is a successful marriage in an industry where there is no such thing. I have done a lot of actor divorces, and believe me, they suck at being married. And so, this is a successful, happy marriage that produced children, that has... it is a long marriage. Now, I will tell you, like, I don't know these two people, that is still a very beautiful woman. Okay, she's gained weight. Chris Williamson: Pierce Brosnan's gained gray! Laura Wasser: Right, okay, but this is a stunningly beautiful woman. And this is a woman who is aging appropriately, right? So she's not trying to do 50 million things... Chris Williamson: Aging better than appropriately, but yeah. Laura Wasser: 100%. But I'm saying she's not trying to undo the inevitable. And the truth is, if you're with a partner long-term, you don't always see those changes as much. Just like you don't notice in yourself that you've gained or lost weight until stuff feels tight. Chris Williamson: How old do you think your mum sees you when she looks at you? You're still 12. Laura Wasser: Right! And so, isn't that a beautiful expression of love? Like I always tell people when they talk about this sort of like, "Oh well you're going to age, and when someone ages...", okay. I have a dog that is 16 years old. I got that dog when the dog was 4 months old. What do you think the dog is now deaf, gets up every morning tail wagging, can't wait to eat breakfast, got a great quality of life. When he no longer has a great quality of life, I will do the thing you need to do, which is the brave and difficult choice. But he wakes up every day tail wagging, has to get carried up and down the stairs. But once he's there, can't wait to eat his meal, can't wait to do his thing. So he's a happy dog. Do you think I look at that dog deaf, has to be carried up and down the stairs and go, "Dude, I got to get a puppy. Look at this fucking dog. Look at this old ass dog, can't even hear anything." Puppies can chase balls! This kid dog used to chase balls, he was so fun, he used to run like the wind, I got videos of it on my phone. Now look at him, he's like a broken little thing. The opposite. The opposite! I love that dog more and more. I know I'm in the bonus rounds, I know I don't have all that much time, and I have to tell you, I fucking love that dog. How do you know that those people don't look at each other and just go, "Look at us. The biggest misconception about carnivore is that it's expensive. It's not. That's a myth. Yes, if you're eating ribeyes twice a day, you're going to spend a lot of money. But carnivore is not ribeyes twice a day for most of us. That's not reality and it's not what I teach. Here's my reality in Houston right now: When chuck roast goes on sale I buy as much as I can. It regularly comes out to about $2 a serving. Ground beef is my main staple and I pay around $5 a pound, which gives me two meals. Eggs and butter round out almost everything I eat. Most days I spend around $6 total. Sometimes less. The meal in this video is a crustless quiche and Market Side hot dogs. Total cost: about $4. Carnivore does not have to mean steak twice a day. It means working with real animal food at whatever price point you can find it that week. Chuck roast. Ground beef. Eggs. Butter. Hot dogs when that's what fits the budget. That is the whole point of what I do. Carnivore is not exclusive to people with money. It is not exclusive to people with farms nearby or neighbors with chickens or access to fancy butchers. The majority of us don't have any of that. I don't either. Anyone can do this. That is my message and I mean it every single time I say it.👑

Do you ride a bike? Or an e-scooter? Or walk a dog? If so, please take a second to read this. If you are on a bike or scooter on a shared pathway and approaching someone walking a dog, please be courteous and slow down a little. Especially if coming up from behind. I am a wheelchair user with a dog and we have way too many close calls with fast moving bikes and scooters. People not using a bell and whipping by within inches. If the dog turned it's head or stepped a bit wide, they'd be hit. I'll happily move as far to one side of the path as possible, and if I've got the younger dog who isn't as experienced around fast moving things, I'll stop at the very side and have him sit in front of me to give everyone as much space as possible. If I don't know you're approaching, I can't do that. So please, for the love of dog, use your bell. Don't wait until you're right behind someone with a dog. Use it while you're still at a distance, and if you aren't sure they noticed it, ring it a few more times. Give them as much time as possible to move to the side and prepare the dog. If it's a puppy or a dog that hasn't had much experience with bikes, being able to get them off the path or give them a little extra distance from the fast moving bike helps prevent them from getting scared. The vast majority of cyclists are great and really respectful, but there's always a few that aren't. This year the challenge is kids on e-scooters. They are going fast and having fun. Safety isn't at the forefront of their mind. They often don't use a bell or slow down at blind corners, and many don't think about giving the dog any space. I've been startled a few times by them so I can only imagine how the dog felt. This is one of the reasons why I do a lot of desensitization and counter conditioning. Dog owners-you need to do your part to. If you've got headphones on, make sure you can still hear the bike bell. Make sure to give the cyclist or scooter rider as much space as possible from your dog. And of course, unless you are on a designated off leash trail, keep your dog on a leash. If you have a puppy or a newly adopted dog that might not be comfortable around bikes, take some kibble or treats and go hang out with them near a multi use path. Let them watch. As the bike or scooter approaches, drop a few treats on the ground. For many dogs, this is all it takes, but if your dog is visibly stressed, fixated on the bike, or reacting, try moving a further from the trail and once they're comfortable at a slightly further distance, try closer again. If they are still stressed or fearful even with more distance, don't force the issue. Instead introduce them to a bike that isn't moving, and gradually work them up from there. If they are struggling, talk to a trainer. Regardless of if you are holding a leash, riding a bike or scooter, or enjoying a walk outdoors, just be respectful. And of course, be safe. Do you ride a bike? Or an e-scooter? Or walk a dog? If so, please take a second to read this. If you are on a bike or scooter on a shared pathway and approaching someone walking a dog, please be courteous and slow down a little. Especially if coming up from behind. I am a wheelchair user with a dog and we have way too many close calls with fast moving bikes and scooters. People not using a bell and whipping by within inches. If the dog turned it's head or stepped a bit wide, they'd be hit. I'll happily move as far to one side of the path as possible, and if I've got the younger dog who isn't as experienced around fast moving things, I'll stop at the very side and have him sit in front of me to give everyone as much space as possible. If I don't know you're approaching, I can't do that. So please, for the love of dog, use your bell. Don't wait until you're right behind someone with a dog. Use it while you're still at a distance, and if you aren't sure they noticed it, ring it a few more times. Give them as much time as possible to move to the side and prepare the dog. If it's a puppy or a dog that hasn't had much experience with bikes, being able to get them off the path or give them a little extra distance from the fast moving bike helps prevent them from getting scared. Some Big Numbers To Get Excited About Regular readers will know I often write of frustration at not moving fast enough. This mission I am on is really hard and sometimes it can seem impossibly big when I am down in the weeds dealing with dog issues on a daily basis. I have to say though that writing this tonight and looking through some numbers I feel for the first time that I am starting to make some large scale progress… A Second Island 🌴🥥 I live and help the dogs on the island of Koh Samui. There is an island of equal size called Koh Phangan just across the water. You probably have heard of it as the home of the world famous Full Moon Party. They have a similar problem with street dogs. Since the the 1st May I have starting funding a wonderful foundation called PACS to sterilise dogs there. They are starting with 50 this month. This is going to stop 1000s of future puppies. A big step. 90,000 Meals Served in 2023 So Far 🥘👨‍🍳 The cooking never stops. The dogs are all starting to benefit from a consistent and healthy meal per day. All the food is prepared in a central kitchen and handed out to volunteers to feed their dogs. With 5000 meals served per week around the island it blows my mind that soon we will serve the 100,000th wholesome plate of food in 2023. It wasn’t that long ago I was driving around on my moped with a 10kg bag of dry food feeding a paltry 20 dogs per day on my own. 7 Puppies Re-Homed 🐶🏠 In the last couple of weeks there have been 25-30 puppies show up. It can be incredibly tough to find them homes but thanks to a great Thai lady I have been able to get 7 into their forever homes around the country. It has involved a lot of vet visits, 1000kms of travel and lots of expense but that is 7 dogs who have a future now who wouldn’t have made it otherwise. 2 Miracles For Lady 🙏😊 The first miracle for Lady was the fact that she got off the street and was able to start walking a little again despite her two broken hips. We’ve been getting her a lot of treatment and she is thriving. Her 2nd miracle was when a lovely newly retired gentleman called Jamie spotted her and offered Lady a forever home to live out her life right here on the island. Nobody usually wants old and sick dogs so this incredibly selfless act is the huge slice of luck that Lady deserved after all the suffering she has endured. The Best Day Of Tina’s Life 🐕🥰 Tina was used for breeding puppies. We all saw the horrendous state she was in when she was rescued. Last week she was well enough to be sterilised so as she never has to have another puppy in her life again. It might seem like a small footnote in the bigger scheme of things but it was a moment of closure for this wonderful lady who has suffered so much. She can now just focus on being a dog for for the first time in her life and sharing all the love she has to give. Tina was the 521st dog I have sterilised since starting. King Whacker Of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✈️ Whacker is a very special dog who was one of the first arrivals back in November. Someone had tried to kill him with a pick axe. After recovering he turned into a true gent and is the big boss at the land. I promised he would never have to go back on the streets and this week after a process to find him the right home he got the news that he will be heading to Glasgow. Long live Whacker, the King of Scotland. 125 Dogs To Be Sterilised In May ✂️🐕 I spoke about how abstract sterilising can be for many people to understand but it is what will save the most dogs from suffering. In all of 2022 I was able to do 302 dogs. In the month of May alone I have a minimum target to fund 125. In June I hope to take that to 250 dogs for the month. Not easy and very expensive but I’m putting the groundwork in place to scale this up. Nothing is more important. Little Rodney was in getting the snip last week as one of the dogs this month. 7 European Dogs 🇪🇺🛫 By the end of June there will be 7 dogs who have traveled to Europe. Lottie, Hope, King Whacker, Rodney and Moritz will join Little Squeak and Peaches who just arrived in Germany. I can’t explain how hard it is to figure all this stuff out and get the processes in place. I’m focusing on Europe now as it is the easiest for travel and paperwork but the rest of the world will happen soon too. It’s only 7 dogs but seeing them in their homes or about to travel makes me so happy and proud for them all. Progress The suffering I see on a daily basis for street dogs means that I am never really happy with the speed and progress of my mission. I just want to help them all immediately but that isn’t possible. Having said that, reading this update and knowing what else is coming in the pipeline makes me feel that I am making genuine progress. Between food, funding sterilisations, medical care and re-homing dogs I can genuinely now say I’m helping 100s of dogs per month but also stopping the suffering of 1000s in the future. As I always say I could never do any of this without the online support and good wishes of everybody on the mission with me. I don’t feel like I am alone doing this. My role is to make sure I don’t waste all the support and ensure I think of ways to move faster and execute accordingly. A lot done, a lore more to do. DEADLINE: And I feel like anytime there’s a big queer project like this, it seems inevitable that people are going to be speculating about your sexuality. Or just accusing you of gay baiting. How does it feel having to separate your personal from the professional? STORRIE: I think there’s so much energy that is coming at us with the rise of this show, and for me, at least, I think it’s important for me to have a little bit of separation from the character in the show. All I can really say is that I love Ilya, I love the community that this is a part of and that this caters to. I think that’s so much more interesting and valuable than doing just another run-of-the-mill, straight story. Who I date, who I sleep with, who this, that, whatever, I’m gonna keep that to myself. Everybody loves Tina. This was the biggest day of her life. The day everything changed for her and the suffering truly ended. This was a very happy day. Let me explain… ✂️ Tina was dog number 521 that I’ve had sterilized. 🐶 During her lifetime she had been heavily bred. It is likely that she had 40-50 puppies 💵 A dog like this is just seen as a cash machine. 🧑🏽‍⚕️Her operation was a little more complicated than most. She had several cysts and a scarred uterus. 🛌 She has been in big pain recovering for the last few days. She couldn’t eat and could barely walk for first 48 hours. ✅ Tina is back to herself today and healing up well. She is getting pain medication and vet treatment throughout. So why is this all such good news? 🥰 For the first time in her life Tina is truly free. She’ll never be bred again for puppies. 🐶 She was in heat last month. So there is now no danger she can even get accidentally pregnant. 📈 It’s another part of her recovery journey fully ticked off. Any surgical procedure is a risk but she has recovered well. 5️⃣2️⃣1️⃣ That’s how many dogs I’ve now done including Tina. If you imagine how many puppies and how much suffering that will stop in the future you can see why it is key. 📊 I’m trying to do about 120 in the month of May alone. The cost about $40-50 each. 🤞 I know I share a lot of dog feeding and dogs who have great recovery stories. That’s what people love. Nobody is really interested in this side of things (the sterilizing) because it isn’t glamorous or all that interesting after you have seen 1-2 of them. Nothing is more important though. My dream is to get to a place where I can do 1000s of these every day around the world. It’s only one operation for one beautiful dog but I hope that helps explain the most important part of my mission. The best day of Tina’s life even if she is in pain 🥰

Apparently, he first arrived at the shelter as a stray when he was only four months old. A family adopted him and later returned him, saying that he had too much energy. After that, he was adopted once again and brought back because, once again, he had too much energy and they just couldn’t keep up with him. The third time he was adopted, he was returned yet again. This time, they said that he had too much energy and that they were moving. I honestly don’t even know what to say. I couldn’t believe it, and my heart broke for Kingston. 💔😭 I took him on a walk and made this video for him today. I spent a long time with him, and during the entire visit, he was one of the sweetest puppies. He was just so happy to be surrounded by people. At one point, Kingston grabbed a toy and decided that he wanted to bring it with us on our walk… and he did. For the entire walk, he proudly carried his toy everywhere he went. He is only six months old. He is not “too much.” He is a puppy!!! Puppies need patience. They need training. They need time to learn and grow… And despite everything he has been through in his short life, Kingston still greets the world with a wagging tail, a toy in his mouth, and hope that someone out there will finally keep him forever. If you think that person could be you, Kingston is waiting...

I help street dogs and the most common question I get is… Why don’t you take them home or find them a home? The answer is because we feed about 800 at the moment. Poppy here is a really good example because I adore here and I thought I’d explain what she gets… ✂️ It took me 2 months to build up trust but I caught her and got her sterilized meaning no more suffering with puppies. 🩸 While getting that operation the vet discovered major complications (Pyometra) which was about to kill her. Luckily that’s all fixed up and her stitches came out this week. 👷🏽‍♂️ I found her a place with some migrant workers. They don’t own her but they tolerate her. Nothing bad will happen her there and she is safe from other dogs who were attacking her. 🛢️ We delivered her very own house. The locals are happy for her to live in it. She now has shelter and a safe place. 🥘 Poppy gets two wholesome home cooked meals per day delivered. 💊 She has preventative medicines to stop fleas and ticks 💉 She is up to date with all her shots 🥰 Although short she gets a little bit of love each day in passing which she has grown to enjoy. So this is the best solutions for as many dogs as I can do. It’s not perfect but it improves their lives massively and gives them a chance and some basics. All that only costs about $100 max. 🏡 I am always working on forever homes and have 5 getting their paperwork down ready to fly (Rodney, Hope, Lottie etc) but 800 dogs out there need instant solutions which is what these are. Quick wins for the dogs. It’s not perfect but it’s nice to know that Poppy is at least alive thanks to her operation, not suffering thanks to simple medicines and has shelter and is out of immediate danger. ✅

When learning a new skill, your toddler needs the same things you do: Opportunity. Practice. And an environment in which it’s safe to fail - at least initially - as you work things out. It’s why I love this video, in which mom provides all three in abundance. Would it be easier to feed the dog herself? Sure. But that’s not the path to independence. And when the going gets tough, does she step in and take over? Quite the opposite, actually. She lends a little technical assistance (two hands) and shares the most important message of all: “Don’t give up. You’ve got this.” Finally, when our hero doesn’t quite stick the landing? That’s okay too. No fuss. Just another step closer to mastery. These are the things we all need as learners. What a lucky little guy.
