I just added 3D low-poly model generation to Retro Diffusion! Create super high quality low poly models with pixel art textures in minutes. Then animate them however you want with just a prompt! Check it out on the site and the API/MCP!

this is very neat

Omg thats so cute

Here's just a handful of the gens I've done while testing:

And this insanely cool minecraft style steampunk machine!

You can use it here:

Does it do only Minecraft style or can it get to PS1 level as well?

This is amazing! I've been following you many months or even years ago I think and I'm super happy you're getting bigger bigger and better!

Always got more to build haha

Testing it out now. It even has the texture atlas and export options wtf haha

Yep! It's the whole kit haha

This is the sort of thing I'd pay to run locally but not the sort of thing I want to be paying per gen on. To be honest, that holds for basically any AI my hardware is powerful enough to run.

Yeah your hardware isn't powerful enough to run this I promise- It's using claude opus 5.5 and almost nothing else works. GPT6 Astra is close- but still not as good. Totally get the local angle, but honestly, if you want the cutting edge then cloud compute is the only way.

Based on what I've seen in the progress of other generative 3D models the turn around time from cloud-only to 'we optimized it and now it runs on 12gigs' is about 1 year, so...

fastest shipper in the west BABY!

Thats me lmao

Nice! @kalin_t you might use this for art

This is insane! I was looking for a low poly model generator but stuff like meshy sucks 😅 gonna try this out

Lol yeah I used meshy once and never again

Is this real? Amazing! Anything in particular you found really difficulty to create with this 3d update?

Not really. I have tried a bunch of stuff and it just works. Some things are hard to represent in the art style like really smooth stuff but thats a limit of the medium not the tool

Alright looking forward to try it out

whoa!

😎

Yeah baby

... How quickly did you just release this 😂

About 13 hours

The kind of things that can now be done with this are great, actual pixel accurate low poly models

this is such a level up very cool bro

Ikr its crazy

Bravo. If this was around a month ago, I might be working on a very different game right now.

looks fire, watching you ship this in a day was crazy

Hahaha when the obsession gets me it doesn't let go

👀

This might just be amazing…

Oh it is amazing

Wow this looks phenomenal

Bro 🤝

so cute!

This is going to unlock a bunch of fun. I’ll have to give it a spin. What’s pricing like?

Depends on size, 16^3 volume is $0.25, 32 is $0.50, 64 is $0.85, etc

Damn, this looks good!

You just shipped a major service feature in less than a day my man, this is crazy cool! Congrats

Yeah! To be fair I've been thinking about how to make this work for months, all just clicked into place today.

Duuuuuuuude! 🥲

Haha thanks 😂

Wouldn't like hardcore cubes only based 3D be more on brand? Like all meshes are made of cubes and textels are aligned to them, maybe can be some 2x2, 3x3, extra detail. Still supporting boned animation though. These look great though.

It does those too! It's a style option :)

Yeah those come through pretty close to the style. Seems a little not quite texel/mesh aligned, but with this art style it seems fine. Awesome product!

literally saw your tweets(X-es?) experimenting with this earlier today, thats some insane iteration speed

I've got a pretty solid programming setup :) One I've got a solid enough idea, executing is easy.

pretty close! from pixel art I made, Shin from Dorohedoro

Huge! Congrats!

Thanks! It's so exciting! Can't wait to make a game with it.

有点想拿它做一群走路歪歪扭扭的小怪

@grok compare the price of generating models with @RealAstropulse vs @MeshyAI and @tripoai

Is this something we can self host or is it a monetized project? Very interested, but also very poor for hobby funds lol

After that, i'll sign up for my next game assets. This is rly huge and nice!

you can't even do 1 gen for 0.5. It's 0.85 to even see a test.

If you set the size smaller its cheaper. 32^3 is $0.50, 16^3 is only $0.25. It's an expensive model to run. Just kinda how it is with 3d gen and pixel art. Low poly actually makes it more expensive because each decision it makes matters more to the overall shape.

How are normies, designers, modding devs going to know waht 32^3 means Is this a minecraft/hytale or blocky standard? I have 17k hours in addons and mods and have no idea what you're telling me here.

Brother it's a volume measurement. Like in geometry. 32x32x32 pixels. That's the space the model occupies.

oh I see.
