I just got pulled over on FSD in Tennessee! 🚨

He might have seen an out of state plate and thought it would be an easy ticket. Once he realized you have cameras, etc he decided it wasn't worth it.

FSD is notoriously bad for tailgating. I was hoping the new speed profiles in V14 would address this, but they don’t.

In 5-10 years FSD will be one car length behind at 100mph in the fast lane and all traffic enforcement will be by our own sensors.

Police in small towns in the south are extremely prejudice and predatory I fuking hate driving there. Only times I’ve ever been pulled over is in the south, Virginia and North Carolina

I've found FSD definitely follows too close at highway speeds.

My experience is FSD follows much further back than 90% of human drivers. So that's interesting. I use Standard mode though.

Lol the cops will do that in TN. You have to be so far back away from the car in front of you. I believe it’s always 3 ft. Deep down he probably just wanted to explore your Tesla lol. 😂

Yeah I feel it follows too closely. I wish there was a distance slider like on most cruise controls.

The distance for following closely is based on historical data on human reaction. FSD reaction time is much faster, so maybe they need to update the metrics when on FSD.

Seems awfully subjective. How do they measure what too close is?

Another FSD saved you a ticket because he knew you had it recorded and I think he was just gonna harass him right you up anyway I want to talk to him about FSD. He knows that G. could be up with any kind of decent traffic charge he could go to hell.

That cop was a total dickhead to pull you over. That’s absolutely insane. There’s no way FSD is up somebody’s tailpipe impossible. The calf got a lot of more important things to do than this kind of nonsense.

It's called a Terry stop after a Supreme Court case. I once got pulled over for driving under the speed limit. Not an offense except it's a sign of intoxication. When my right side tires crossed the white line that's technically illegal and gave him probable cause. Checked my paperwork, ascertained I wasn't drunk, and sent me on my way.

I’ve never heard of anyone being pulled over for being too close following distance. Super odd.
