I had to go back and find the last interview Omar Berrada (#MUFC CEO) did with Andy Mitten because some people have suddenly convinced themselves that Manchester United have no clue what they're doing. When asked about the plan for 2026, Berrada said: "I think we are going to replicate what we did last year in some sense. You always go into the window, but you don't know how you will come out of it. You have to be prepared and have a clear plan. There are opportunities that will come later in the window that aren't there when you are going into it, so you have to be prepared, be flexible, and have a clear plan. But we will always do it within our terms. It's very important we don't let the market or the agents dictate what we should be doing." To break it down: Think of it like mathematics. Your teacher tells you that bearing and distance will be on the exam. That doesn't mean you memorize every bearing question you can find. The smarter approach is to understand the formula and the method. Once you know that, you can solve whatever variation appears. It's the same with the transfer market. Knowing you need to improve the midfield doesn't mean you panic and buy the first hyped player available. It means you know the profile you want, understand the market, and have a strategy. Tarr: It was mostly a political problem.
