That would take forever. How about just adjusting your miter saw to 45°, lock it and cut it?

Or you could just set your blade to 45° or use a mitre box

This right here is the part where it's not a "hack". You're eyeballing this angle, and it you get it even slightly wrong, they won't fit. Like someone else said, just use a 45º miter saw.

I'm sorry, markers don't cut through wood like that. this is fake and gay.

It's just showing that's where they cut. It's an interpretation. Don't think too hard!

But he didn't cut it, is he so strong that he was able to just pull it apart perfectly?

Why are you putting skirting board on the outside of your house?

If you're joining the other ends of each piece you can't do this because now they are too short. Show me the other ends now?

This would work good when you corners aren't exactly ninety degrees.

This is not a method a carpenter would use. When you turn the pieces over and mark them with a straight edge across the corner, there's no guarantee both pieces are 45 degrees, in fact, one could easily be a different angle from the other,

dailyvitamins's profile picture

Why not just cut a 45? You also aren’t going to be able to do this on a closed end

This is actually a pretty bad idea. Bricks are never straight, and most floors to walls are imperfect. The flipped cut is going to exaggerate imperfections and make a terrible mismatch.

I went to Lowes and asked for a red marker that replaces a saw but they just laughed at me. Do you have a link?

Just set the table saw to 45 degrees, and cut each end. Bunch of retards.

Or just set your cut angle at 45 degrees

Kristján Va's profile picture
Kristján Va5 months ago

This only works if the initial line hits 45 degrees, and the guy just eyeballs it. Better use a proper trimming saw with adjustable angles.
