i love sonic 1, it gets too much hate

People who unironically hate it and say it's bad literally took their opinions from youtubers. "Oh it doesn't use the game design to it's full potential" no shit man it was the first game in the series. It's overall a fine and soulful gem

Sonic 1 have to be my Favorite Sonic Visually and conceptually. It's Surreal, it's simple, it's beautiful. I prefer this Visual direction over the more Detailed and realistic scenarios from the 3rd Game, that is my favorite one of the Classics by the way.

The game’s a little jank here and there but the fact it gets hate at all is so baffling

suffers from the Seinfield effect nowadays, sonic 1 is goated, music by a J-Pop star, engine by a naka, level design by yasuhara, and the designs/characters made by oshima making it all colorful, serious talent on this game

Sonic 1 was my very first video game, I even played it on authentic hardware when I was 3 so I have the most memories of it compared to the rest of the games

Sonic 1 might've been the weakest entry out of the three, but the aura the commercials and influence it had was unreal

When you master the level design and everything its just pure bliss. Sonic 1 is incredible

I remember a few months ago I ended up playing Sonic 1 without the drop dash (I kept the Spindash on though, and also the elemental shields) and I ended up really liking it. You kinda have to play with Sonic 1 in a similar way to CD which I really liked

Ngl, I damn near beat that game thousands of times over the years because IT’S THAT UNDERRATED OF A GAME!! Perfect? No. Still hate The Labyrinth. But still one of the goated games! Also, ties have turned later on for the mouse and the hedgehog being well known 💀
