You gotta find the so-called data he referenced. Because there is no universe in which Columbus City, Cleveland, Cincy, Akron, Toledo schools are outperforming their private counterparts. Maybe MAYBE charters? But I’d be skeptical even about that.

I’m going to share this video with my story. I have a VISCERAL reaction when I read takes like this. I have a full time job in an upper-middle class position. I loved my life. I traveled frequently, enjoyed life with my dog and my adult children, I voted in every election, volunteered when I could, and generally benefited from a functioning democracy. I’ve told this story before, but it was literally one conversation with the man who currently represents my district that changed everything for me. Never in a million years did I expect to enter the world of politics. I actually hate the attention. Social media sucks. While I do have my issues with the Digital Circus finale, this one scene stuck out to me with incredible reliability. To me, this scene represents what my relationship with Christ has been at multiple times in my life. I had thoroughly convinced myself that I was undeserving of His love and acceptance, and that I’d rather be left alone to wallow in my own misery. Thankfully He didn’t give up on me, and loved me despite my past flaws and mistakes. That’s instantly where my mind went when watching this in the theater for the first time a couple weeks ago, and has continued to stick in my mind since. How blessed I am to have a Savior who will always come for me, to show me His love even when I’ve messed up and don’t deserve it. That kind of love is what pushes me to be more like Christ every day, and while I’m not perfect, I hope to do my best. 🥹
