Unlimited inference is a fun wedge. I still care where the thread and keys live. My ideal desktop agent is local-first, keeps chats on my machine, and lets me bring an existing OpenAI or Grok plan or BYOK instead of adding another meter (free is great, hidden lock-in isn't).

we're debating allowing BYOK. tbh, i don't think it makes sense for users to use freecode unless they're using our inference, if you have a key, you mine as well use opencode/ bb/ conductor?

I don't see an issue with BYOK, especially as it really allows you to diversify your models. Ex, I love using as one of my BYOK's because there's just so much diversity in model selection. That coupled w/ my SuperGrok Heavy, and OpenAI sub, and the world is my oyster.

You should really stop using Zapier or Make. Deploying Python scripts on Replit takes less than 5 min and is cheaper. Just describe what you want to automate and AI takes care of writing the code. For example, I created an automation that merges all the PDFs in a folder on Drive into a single file. All that's left to do is: - Copy/paste the API key - Click on "Run" And you're done! In this case I used Aider Chat (free and open source), but you can also use Replit Agent.
