I made Lines of Battle because I wanted something between a turn-based strategy game and an RTS Regular turns have two problems. The more players you add, the longer everybody has to sit around waiting. And one army just standing still while the other one moves doesn’t feel like... show more

play lob with friends here

I always liked that about Diplomacy. Negotiate, write down your orders, then they get executed for all players at the same time.

exactly, the simultaneous format adds that element of unpredictability which is interesting

You describe exactly what I like about this game A clear vision with a great execution

I first encountered "We Go" playing Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord, have you played that at all?

haven't played it but several people have mentioned it to me, maybe I'll give it a try someday

so WEGO like combat mission 25 years ago

never played it but yeah it seems it has a similar gameplay

Phew! The world is so tight, because I actually have the same concept, that is, everyone commands at the same time, but I added a layer with 3 actions on top of that. That is, a battalion can execute up to three orders in one turn.

Leo!

ohhh this is simultaneous resolution! ? helll ya i love it i been experimenting with simult turns for a while

昔の銀英伝みたい

Ahhh, so Diplomacy style of turns

yep this is like a combination of Diplomacy, Total War, and Epic History

Hell yea

This sounds pretty cool.

Love it. Semi-turnbased is the future. Orders -> Execution -> Orders.

@Lutra_Gaming is this your jam?

@Lutra_Gaming I hope it is lol

This is the theoretically superior version of turn-basedness. I hope it's actually fun too though.

I loved Hexarchy multiplayer a lot for the make turns at the same time mechanic, excited to try your game too

hope you enjoy it! didn't know Hexarchy I'll take a look to it

This evokes Total War single player pause button master tactician memories

Great idea

This looks fantastic!

glad you like it!

Someone finally made it, Chess 2 is here

Love this idea

This style of strategy game has actually been around a long time, it just never gained as much popularity as either turned based or real time. Never understood why, it's a ge uinely compelling way for things to be resolved.

What are you using to build it?

the 2D version uses Typescript, the 3D version uses Godot and C++

yea simmilar concept had battlestar galactica deadlock

War games using actual miniatures solved this problem with written orders.

Bruh it’s just Combat Mission

This game does the same concept
