I managed to actually figure out how to reverse engineer Roblox's reflection cubemaps! I modified them to generate at a resolution of 2048x2048 instead of 128x128! Its such a massive difference in quality its unbelievable. #Roblox #RobloxStudio #RobloxDev

Daaaang!!!! Any massive performance hit? Does this seem realistic for medium to high end devices?

my FPS stays at a solid 240fps in edit mode, however if a object moves the envmap has to recapture (this means for example if a door is tweened to open, it triggers a full recapture, which can cause like a 50fps dip.)

nice work!!!

How’s the pc fans lol . Looks great!

teach me your ways.

low end devices abatudie

Hold up you onto something

this is fire

The fact that roblox doesn't have any proper implementations of reflections baffles me. All we have is SSR on water. Why not implement it further? Why the limitations for no good reason? Always fun to see people go beyond what the devs set up.

The most fun part is, you can’t even place them manually because “reflection probes don’t exist in real life” 😭😭😭 Powering imagination!!
