Irresponsible to post this, Iris. They belong in the wild, where they can express their natural behaviors. The exotic pet trade is driving rapid extinctions—if you saw the extreme cruelty of the traffickers you’d be horrified—and it’s all promoted by social media.

No you mustn’t. The exotic pet trade is driving species to extinction, causes huge welfare problems, and can lead to the spread of disease. It’s not cute. It’s cruel. Please think again, change your mind, and let your Followers know why. @BornFreeFDN @BornFreeUSA @fishvetmj

@BellsTheorem33 Tail not the same as m9st in video. Hmm Could it be the Japanese dwarf?? that @grok suggest?

Grok's profile picture

The animal in the video is indeed a Japanese dwarf flying squirrel (Pteromys momonga). It has gliding membranes and a fluffy tail used for steering, unlike the bushier-tailed galago (bush baby), which doesn't glide. The tail might look slimmer in some clips due to angle or grooming, but it matches. Adorable little glider!

They made some movies about these things, they turn into green monsters if you feed them after midnight. Don't let their big cute ears and eyes fool you. They are of the Devil!

Nothing is right about this. Wildlife belongs in the wild. So NOT COOL.

They belong in the wild and not as pets.

On the Angolan border in my army days, we had an African bush baby that slept by day in an army-boot and was passed from the one minder to the other. Problem is that they urinate on their hands to be able to jump and cling to surfaces which makes it a pet for the naive only.

They are Bush babies. Small and cute and shouldn’t be pets. They should be allowed to live free

It’s a bush baby from Africa, not a sugar glider (a marsupial) from Australia. Sugar gliders have a flap of extra skin on their side which allows them to glide from tree to tree or to the ground when escaping the 2M things that can kill it in Australia.

These are wild animals. Don’t be an idiot - don’t try to keep them as pets!

No you mustn't! "It" needs to live in it's natural environment. This is a sentient being, capable of feeling pain, stress and alarm. It is time human's reflected on the power dynamic they exercise over animals. Just because we can, does not mean we should. #AnimalWelfareMatters

I love the idea of a sugar glider but hear they seldom do well as pets. I would not want to get one and then find out I can't properly care for it. They sure are adorable.

That's a bush baby. I can jump about 7ft and apparently sounds like a baby crying. No idea how to take care of it but it's adorable

Google says they're not good as house pets because they mark their territory by scooting in their urine causing a bad stench. Cute, but a gross animal.

Keeping any of these creatures as pets is vile and cruel, outside of the wild only specialists like Monkey World can provide the conditions these creatures need to have a decent life. Stop fuelling the disgusting primate pet trade.
