My absolute biggest issue with newer 3D Sonic games is how enemies are used They are RARELY actual obstacles within the levels and are more JUST extensions of platforming to be Homing Attacked which just defeats the point of enemies in a level

Trip's Story in Sonic Superstars is such a shame because it's the exact difficulty I want in a Sonic game that's both optional and well designed But some of the bosses are genuinely atrocious, over double the level's length in this case
