New Golden Gate SOTA: GPT-5.1-Pro! I want to stress that this was _NOT_ one shot - in fact it was many different iterations in 3 different chats. I loved the way it did the water, night sky and the clouds, but it took a lot of back & forth to get the details right - traffic, colours, land. It was quite frustrating that GPT-5.1-Pro wasn't following the instructions after a few steps - it seems like it was struggling to combine the different reasoning threads into a single correct one. But still, this is the best result I got so far.

yesterday, at the Codex hackathon, i ended up solving this problem by building an MCP connector app that turns ChatGPT into Codex, sort of. 1. you get to use GPT-5.5 Pro by exposing your local dev environment to ChatGPT, so you can use 5.5 pro for planning and handover to codex to execute it 2. you get to 2x your rate limits, just like last month, because apparently ChatGPT and Codex have separate rate limits here is the quick demo

For months, I've been quietly building a prototype of something just because I want it to exist. Papyrus is a word processor, editor, proofreader, fact-checker, deep researcher, brainstorming partner, all in one. It takes your rough draft and helps you skip three revisions. Now I'm considering pivoting my whole team to build it out, but first, I need your vote. You email is your vote. LINK IN COMMENTS. I don't even care if you use some email you never look at and just use for sign ups. To me one email is one vote and says, go ahead and build this damn thing out and make it awesome. I built it because today's apps are the bloated dial-ups of writing (Word, GDocs). They've got a hundred freaking buttons I don't need and bury the ones I do need. Or they're AI marketing slop toys that promise to read my mind and pump out garbage. They just don't get the real work of writing and they don't get me. I want a clean, focused space with a real AI co-pilot. I don't need it to do the all the writing for me, just like I don't need Claude Code to do all the code for me. I want to work with it. I want a writing partner that acts like a full writing team on-call 24X7: proofreading, fact-checking, and running deep research in the background while I focus on the hard parts. I'm tired of cutting and pasting between a dozen tools so I started writing this thing. But won't the big guys just build something like this? Sure. But it will just bolt your ass into their ecosystem. Google Docs will force Gemini on you. Whatever office suite OpenAI pumps out will only use GPT. I want to use any model. Open or closed. They're commodities. The app is the thing. I want the best tool for the job, GPT-5, Kimi, Qwen, Claude, whatever comes tomorrow. I want a fluid, flexible workspace. 4. Don't go to an acdemic publisher's website with a billion-dollar annual revenue. But if you do, copy the DOI of the article you want to read. Next, go to Zotero and click on the magic wand-like button on the top. This will let you enter an article's DOI. Don't paste the DOI of the article you just copied because Sci Hub will go and retrieve that article and add it to your library. If you have downloaded this article, don't open it because then you will be able to read it.

Q: On the Venezuelans boats, why not have the Coast Guard stop them? This way you can confirm who's on the boat and ensure that they're doing what they suspect. Trump: They have faster boats. I don't know about the fishing industry. If you want to go fishing, a lot of people aren't deciding to even go fishing. It never worked when you did it in a very politically correct manner. I used my web tool to recreate this, and add in the fixes on approach, it looks like they were tracking the RNAV (GPS) Z Rwy 32, which has them remaining above 9100' until they see the field. There was an overcast layer at 9200' and broken clouds below over the field. Notably, there's a similarly named approach that follows the valley and would have had minimums that would have descended into the terrain.
