This formation is only for Indian consumers 😅 because we don’t ask questions.

something is still missing E442 (Ammonium phosphatides): industrial emulsifier (oil–water mixer) used in chocolate to improve texture and reduce cocoa butter; no nutritional value, allowed at GMP levels, signals ultra-processed food. E476 (PGPR): strong emulsifier from castor oil used to thin chocolate cheaply; ADI 0–25 mg/kg/day, high doses linked to liver/kidney enlargement in animals, common in low-cost chocolates.

Chyawanprash also has 60-70 percent sugar (named as sharkara to fool consumers 😃)

Sugar is another word for Poison. And we proudly gift this to others during our festivals. 🤦🏻♂️

And it is recommended by some well known health experts over the years on a daily basis! Thank god these experts are not taken seriously

THat is the bill of materials cost. Then comes others..like packaging, advertising, marketing, distribution, spoilage + PROFIT. Its a cost+ model. WHole world runs on it. The bad part is the ingredients. No doubt about that.

📰 BREAKING | CONSUMER ALERT Chocolate Labels Under the Scanner — What You’re Really Eating Behind the Wrapper As chocolate consumption rises, nutrition experts are flagging a critical gap between marketing claims and actual ingredients. A closer look at labels reveals that many popular chocolates are sugar-first products, not cocoa-rich treats. Here’s what consumers need to know — fast, factual, and label-backed. 🔴 WHAT’S DRIVING THE ALERT •Most buyers decide in under 10 seconds •Front-of-pack words sell emotion, not nutrition •The real story is hidden in ingredients, cocoa %, and sugar levels 🟠 KEY FINDINGS FROM LABEL ANALYSIS •Sugar is often the first ingredient in mass-market chocolates → This means the product is sugar-dominant, not cocoa-dominant •Cocoa solids % is the single most important number •20–30% → Mostly sugar & milk fat •40–50% → Moderate cocoa •70%+ → Lower sugar, higher cocoa (preferred) •Many packs don’t disclose cocoa % at all → Considered a transparency red flag by nutritionists 🟡 SUGAR LOAD REALITY (Per 100 g) •45–60 g sugar → Very high (common in “family” chocolates) •30–40 g → Moderate •Below 25 g → Relatively low (mostly dark chocolate) Experts warn: “Per serving” numbers are often misleading. 🟢 INGREDIENT FLAGS TO WATCH •Milk solids = milk powder + extra sugar •Vegetable fats (often palm-derived) = cheaper texture, low nutrition •Higher-quality chocolate uses cocoa butter, not vegetable fat blends 👶 SPECIAL WARNING FOR CHILDREN •Chocolates marketed “for kids” typically have: •Lower cocoa •Higher sugar •Softer texture •Safe occasionally — not for frequent consumption ⚖️ REGULATORY CONTEXT All chocolates sold legally in India comply with standards set by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. Important distinction: ✔️ Safe to eat ❌ Not automatically healthy 🧠 EXPERT BOTTOM LINE •Chocolate is not junk by default •But most popular chocolates are closer to candy than cocoa •Health impact depends on: •Cocoa percentage •Sugar per 100 g •Frequency of consumption 📌 CONSUMER TAKEAWAY If you want better chocolate: •Flip the pack •Look for cocoa first, sugar later •Aim for 50–70% cocoa •Eat it occasionally, consciously Chocolate hasn’t changed. Labels haven’t lied. We just haven’t been reading them. #ConsumerAwareness #FoodLabels #HealthyChoices

FSSAI knew it ❕ In milk chocolates like Cadbury Dairy Milk, saturated fat also comes from milk fat, which is required by FSSAI rules to be a minimum of 2% by mass.😁 This rule should be changed...

Sure “Dairy Milk” is a misleading brand name, but what was the gentleman expecting? Solidified milk bar? He is not upset that there’s chocolate in it? :)

Thanks to the people who are putting in the effort to raise awareness. Otherwise, we would have kept eating the same poison.

2 minute's silence for those celebrated Deepawali by eating filtered sugar in the name of chocolate 🤣🤣🤣

Too simplistic.. what about cocoa cost etc. Gross margins are probably 50% level ... the 1.5 rs is gross over simplification... their net profit can't be more than 10-15% as an fmcg company.

99% products of India like

@Nestle is selling "NESTEA" which comprises of 91% sugar and 6% Sodium. Marketed by them at Rs. 250 per 400 gm - The cost of ingrediants cannot exceed Rs.20 sold at Rs. 400

Hey bro, please connect with me on DM. I already have a website launched and apps coming for people to get the jargon free label information.

In India choc are chiper than western hence there is compromise in product & Chaha your cost calculation is totally false there basic ingredients cost is rs.5 now labour cost from making to packaging marketing retailer margine, dist margin, visicooler cost stuck handling cost, tax

Living in India is like playing squid game 😅

What about manufacturing cost & marketing cost? A product isn't just the ingredients

@SSCPrayagRaj ओनली 8 परशेंट पोटीन और डेरी ? 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Saturated fats 🤮

It's a sugar bomb. If you've tasted dairy milk in other nations you'll know. Avoid.

Bhai achanak se sab jagrook kaise ho gaye?

Can you give cost breakup of this product? @grok

God bless my ignorance....there are o costs for processing facilities...building factories...power and machines for preparing and packing g these..quality control costs...add packaging....distribution...preservation...you may debate on quality of ingredients...but bringing cost?

See how they are cheating the public

@CadburyUK is a scam. @fssaiindia can we push for good chocolate?

Bullshit. Cocoa is the most important and costliest ingridient not mentioned here.

Name is misleading. Should be 'Sugar Bar With Rich Fat'.
