This is literally boiling rice

Yea my mom used to cook some dishes like that…baked chiken and rice in a glass pan with some cream of chicken or celery and some seasoning

This is how restaurants and catering companies make large quantities of rice 😂🤣

This is my home girl Shaqwana Reed!! We all grew up together. One of the best, if not the best, cooks and caters in the Tampa area!! 👌🏾IG: @qwana_reed

I’m not waiting 40 minutes for no rice G

Shit I'm about start doing this then I love me some rice

Same

It’s the same process really, but it’s super useful to know if you’re ever hosting a party and need to do other things

Agreed

thats how you make baked chicken and rice, in the oven, it softens the rice.

I have a rice cooker. It was $20. You put in the rice, water, press a button and 20 mins later perfectly cooked rice.

I’ve never heard diabetes in a voice like this before.

All those foil trays are toxic and they leach into your maybe not use those anymore or foil at all

Agreed!

That was technically boiled… #slimTLK

Jezus. Just use a rice cooker and be done in 15

I'm looking at the volume of rice...I meal prep so this will be great

My god it's like she invented a new cooking application. Shall we call it the "Rice cooker". replace broth and seasonings and we can pretend the middle east doesn't do this... chicken broth/chicken skin pieces and ginger/garlic if you wanna be asian.

Cooked it in straight up aluminum. Hell no

A whole lot of cynical chefs in this thread🥴

Or grab a rice cooker?!

Everyone commenting, “I can make rice faster!” Is somehow missing out that she’s cooking it in the rendered chicken fat. That rice is touched by G_d.

Oooh she is not alone, but now I know... honey we doing better 😌

Same

40 mins?

⌛️

But there was steam coming off of it....so it was cooked which is essentially boiling the liquid....in the oven?!? Idiots

This is standard procedure when you bake chicken and just throw a couple of cups of rice in the pan.

Stop cooking in aluminum. You’re poisoning yourself and others.

same thing in a microwave use glass or deep plastic bowl cover with saran wrap poke 3 holes cook on high 25-27 minutes

I hear you but I do not use microwaves at all

I tried oven rice a few weeks back and it’s good and so much easier to make lol

Indians have been doing that.

Lol.. it's still boiled rice! 🤣

Rice pilaf has been around a long time.

I may give this a shot. I don't recall anyone doing rice like this and as a big fan of rice since I was kid this may take my rice cooking game to another level. I'll give everyone an update as to how this oven-baked rice turns out. 🍚

This is how its done in catering kitchen throw a pan of rice in the combi oven and it always comes out fluffy

Cooking In Aluminium gives cancer

My grandmother use to did this! but with the broth off the chicken. Now it’s a family tradition.

Oh! So you cooked it in hot water instead. Clever... 🙄
