I open-sourced Dioramas, a framework for cinematic, interactive 3D websites. It's 100% free. No paid tier, no signup. It comes with 20 full example sites, each built around one interaction you can touch: a museum you explore by lantern, a mech you power up, a geode you crack open....

How it works: a text prompt goes to Nano Banana 2, which makes a clean product image. Meshy 7.1 on fal turns that into a detailed 3D model, which gets compressed for the web and dropped into a three.js engine with real lighting, reflections and volumetric light. About $1.20 per model. All 65 models cost around $90 total.

Each example started as a one-page brief handed to Opus 5.5, then went through rounds of screenshot review and fixes

Clone it, npm install, npm run dev. No accounts, no Git LFS. Bring a fal key to generate new custom models

I'd rage-quit if Dioramas needed a paid fal key just to open the lantern museum. After the 20 examples land in-repo, do the Meshy meshes ship baked, or still call fal?

For the existing dioramas no fal key needed whatsoever, just if you want to create new models

That's the way of the allegory: "the intelligence makes intelligence". This guys says: "I open sourced frameworks to generate interactive 3D websites". what?

Meshy building the mesh from Nano Banana images is the quiet detail. The pipeline is more interesting than the diorama.

the geode you crack open is that actual physics under it or scripted to just read like physics? i keep trying to fake that feel and it always looks like it knows when you're done
