Other Mommy releases October 9th (just around the corner) and while it didn’t make my 10 Most Anticipated Remaining Releases of 2026 below, it’s a film I’ve had circled from the moment I saw the trailer. Jessica Chastain is an Oscar winner for a reason. She can do anything. I’m excited to see her in this capacity. This movie looks batshit.

Dune: Part 3’s first images have released & I couldn’t be more hyped. To see these images after such an electric #Oscar night? Don’t you dare tell me Cinema is trending downward- you can’t. Momentum is everywhere. I can’t wait for this film & the rest of 2026. Let’s fucking go.

Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie (🌟🌟🌟🌟) is a standout film released this year & has so much fucking heart, I can’t put it into words. I’m a huge fan of the man who directed this film, Matthew Johnson. I think he’s got a clear creative vision & at the end of the day, he’s flat-out funny. As I wrote in my lengthy review back in April, this film literally improved my mood. This is just another example of how great 2026 has been for Cinema.

The Furious is one of the best films of 2026. I have this currently ranked within my 10 best films of the year & I think this is proper Cinema. Other than John Wick, I can’t think of an action film with better choreography than this in recent memory. I didn’t catch this in theaters - only on streaming - but even from home, I found the experience memorable. Try this film on for size if you haven’t seen it yet.

BREAKING: The first trailer for James Gray’s upcoming release Paper Tiger just dropped. This is one of my most anticipated films of 2026 & an early contender for the Oscar for Best Picture. I’ve read from countless sources that this is some of Adam Driver’s best work. I can’t wait to see this & it’s already been added to my Letterboxd watchlist.

BREAKING: Neon just dropped the full trailer for James Gray’s upcoming crime thriller Paper Tiger & I’m so incredibly excited. This film, featuring Adam Driver, Miles Teller & Scarlett Johansson, has Oscar written all over it. Unquestionably one of my most anticipated releases of 2026. I cannot wait to see this movie.

This weekend is your chance to watch David Fincher’s The Game. 2026 is turning into a juggernaut for Cinema- so much is happening. But don’t lose sight of the fact we’re getting a new David Fincher film this year. So, act accordingly: see this film if you haven’t yet. It’s great.

The Batman is set to fall out of my Top 10 of the Decade rankings after The Odyssey pushed it out. Where I place The Odyssey on these rankings is still up for grabs but The Batman is the 10th & final film on these rankings, therefore, it’s the first one to be dropped. It pains me to see this film go from the list considering it helped usher me back to theaters after COVID. But maybe the second will crack this list…if it releases this decade.

I miss seeing Clint Eastwood in movies. Eastwood, thankfully, has such a long, prolific career filled with countless small films that are so easy to revisit & didn’t necessarily garner Eastwood Oscar recognition. Not that In The Line of Fire is a “small film” but it’s just an example of how many films Eastwood is responsible for that I enjoy. Eastwood is just so easy to spend time with, regardless of the setting.

Robert Eggers needs to be added/remembered/mentioned with all the big name directors dropping new films in 2026. This man has yet to direct a film I haven’t loved. In 2026, Eggers is scheduled to release a new film titled Werwulf. You can bet your sweet ass I’ll be there Day 1.

Insomnia didn’t make my Christopher Nolan 10 Best Films list. But that speaks to how great Nolan’s filmography is - it’s not a slight against Insomnia, which is a damn good movie & a quality Al Pacino performance. This has to be considered one of Pacino’s best films in the last 30 years. Robin Williams is also outstanding playing against-type as the bad guy here. The point I’m getting at? Christopher Nolan’s never made a bad film.

A Thread On A Huge Upcoming Weekend For Cinema 🧵: Next weekend is one of the biggest weekends Cinema will experience this decade. I couldn’t be more excited if I tried: Primetime, Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, and Heart of the Beast all hit theaters. Three massive releases headlined by three massive stars, all dropping on the same exact day in middle of Autumn. Movies are so incredibly back. 1. Primetime (2026; Oppenheim): This is one of my most anticipated releases of 2026 for just so many countless reasons, I don’t even know where to start. Robert Pattinson continues his historic year, returning to theaters as Chris Hansen, the star of To Catch A Predator. I think this is the vehicle that will take Pattinson to the 2027 Oscars & will nab him a Best Actor nom. Also on my radar is Skyler Gisondo, whom I’ve heard is excellent here. If this film has even a shred of Nightcrawler’s quality, I’ll leave the theater next Friday a happy camper. One of 2026’s biggest films is about to drop in a one week, headlined by one of Cinema’s brightest stars.

Can’t believe it’s been 4 years since this movie came out. A film that means so much to me and exemplifies why I love this character so much. Happy Birthday The Batman. Can’t wait to see what Matt Reeves does next!

I Play Rocky (🌟🌟🌟🌟) exceeded my expectations on every level & I’m so happy I had a chance to see this film - I’m happy this was made. If you have any doubts about seeing this film, I’m here to tell you that you should leave them at the door. Great film. Great performances. All I can think about on this Sunday morning.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die is not a film I vibed with upon my initial watch. I didn’t give this film a very strong review back in late January. But I think I might give this another shot given how many of you have told me I’m wrong. I’ve been wrong before, I’ll be wrong again

Turley: There has been to speculation there is this hidden list, the insurance policy that was being held and she would be the most likely custodian of that list. She outright says, "That list doesn't exist, and I actually think I know how that rumor began." That is a major blow for many people trying to build this narrative. The Democrats in congress have been particularly hammering on this
