I probably talked about this before but the way Oda is going about black blades I think is much better and makes much sense than just handing them out to top tiers. The thing is, there is already a metric in place to make the connection. To give Mihawk... a seat at that table. The fact that Yoru is a supreme grade weapon like Ace and Murakumogiri. Supreme grades are already more rare than conqueror's haki as it stands. Now if Xebec and Roger had black blades as well then there's no real way to make that distinction for Oda or to be able to make the argument that Mihawk has gone beyond what they were capable of. We would see these guys continue to get the benefit of the doubt, because even though they would be black blade users alongside Mihawk, they would still be seen as his superiors because of the era they lived in and who they shared the seas with. But the black blade the way Oda wrote it, lets us have a different conversation because it transcends eras.show more
