i still remember the exact moment i first heard this from cobie. it cut so deep that i worked like a madman to want to get to what he said he felt w/ his parents. the carefree living, knowing your parents as chill, happy, people where money & retirement is not a concern.

I gave my parents money and they literally didn’t change at all. One continued spending everything she had and the other continued living so frugally as if he had $100 in the bank. And that’s in a sense what happens to nearly everyone- not that much about you really changes. Although I didn’t just hand them millions like perhaps he did. I’m sure that hits different. But I’m almost certain my mother would have found a way to spend everything and father would have continued arguing with people over the price of a sandwich 😄
