The norms aren’t changing, people are getting more selfish, women in particular think marriage is about happiness instead of commitment. If you know you are with someone for life, you make changes, talk to each other, and work on your relationship. If divorce is on the table there is no incentive to work on it. I hope things change back it’s been terrible for our society

We used to be higher quality people with virtue. This is just a sad assessment of what we’ve become. It’s just more of “when you can’t meet the standard, lower the standard” God’s design is still the best experience for life. Your inability to meet it, doesn’t make it false.

The "there is only one" or there is "soulmate" comes from the fact that society either doesn't know how or want to teach commitment. Society has failed ppl and society doesn't want to admit it The ppl who understand that commitment is apart of love will remain monogamous.

The thing is that the norms themselves are not changing. We are just being forced (in a rather confined part of the world) to live in a way that ultimately has not being beneficial for us all. People do want to live and love quite simply
