I recently found that it is possible to convert the Apple "USB-C Diagnostic Tool" (available for any AASP to purchase) into the device it's based on, the "Chimp" USB-C debugging probe! Here's a quick video on what needs to be done. #appleinternal

Is the chimp debugging probe similar to the Dcsd cable?

DCSD is UART only, also only for Lightning devices. Chimp is for both UART and JTAG/SwD debugging, also only for USB-C devices.

Basically just for UART output on production devices, but can also be used for JTAG/SwD debugging on dev fused devices. This particular probe works with USB-C devices.

How to set it up: 1. Get a Lightning/USB-C to Ethernet adapter (I'm also using a USB-A to USB-C converter but you can skip that) 2. Plug an Ethernet cable from your router into the adapter 3. Plug the adapter into your iPhone 4. Turn ON Airplane Mode 5. Make sure WiFi & Bluetooth stay OFF 6. Turn off the router's WiFi That's it. Your body gets 8 hours of peace. $15 adapter. Dominion representative caught downloading or uploading data to a USB from the Election Management Server at the Gwinnett County, GA Election Central during the 2020 election. He plugs the USB into a laptop, manipulates data, and then palms the USB, hiding it in his hand and walks out. This GA Election Central hub is responsible for tabulating ballots and certifying results. Dominion reps should NOT be doing ANYTHING to ANY machines during a live election. Any machines that have any changes made to them, by law, need to be recertified before being used in any election. No Dominion Rep should be transferring or downloading data to a USB with NO chain-of-custody or even involved during a live election.
