VERY excited for 28 Years Later. I still think about the opening of 28 Weeks Later regularly; terrifying, tragic, and nasty. Best zombie sequence ever, for my money.

I just want to shoutout Michael Mann. I can’t get enough of this guy’s films. I just posted my full length review of Mann’s The Insider - pinned to My Highlights tab along with all my other full length reviews - but as I wrote in my The Insider review, seeing Mann scout location for Heat 2 at age 83 is so damn inspiring. One of my personal favorite directors.

This alien abduction sequence from Prey is burned into my brain and mainly because it’s one of the best uses of licensed music in this format ever

I wasn't a fan of the original. But this remake hit different. I think the musical theme is beautiful and haunting.... I enjoyed the movie in the “it’s bad but good” sense and it has one of my favorite lines ever: “It’s lonely without God, isn’t it?” “It’s just lonely—period.”
