I remember when we won 2–0 last season against Mallorca, I think, Hansi Flick said in his press conference that he wasn’t happy with how the players performed. This is what he did to them in training the next day

Manuel Ángel Morán. A special player. I hope he has fewer physical issues and injuries next season, and that he can build some consistency. If he makes good progress physically and manages to get back to his best, he’s the kind of profile that could become a good addition to the first team in the long run. Looking forward to seeing him with Arbeloa again next season in Castilla.

"To get Bournemouth, the smallest club in the Premier League by some distance into Europe above some very well established names, it's absolutely superb." "I wouldn't necessarily look to the silverware as a gauge of how successful Andoni can be, I think he could thrive at Anfield for sure." 🎥 Sam Davis on Andoni Iraola

🎙️ What do you think about Arda Güler? 🗣️ Ryan Gravenberch: “I haven’t watched many of Real Madrid’s games this season, but he played against us last season.” “We know he’s a very good player with his left foot.” “I’ve seen some of his goals and assists — he can deliver passes behind the defenders to the forwards.” “We have to prepare well.”

🚨🔴 Daniel Sturridge on Andoni Iraola, preseason and Isak fitness; 🗣You've gatto give the man time to implement the philosophy he has. We've seen a legacy in Mo.Salah move on. Effectively the attack was build around him. And Robertson gone. Now you have a pre season with Isak and you'll like to believe he'll be fit, cos last season he was away training on his own. And then with Ekitike, unfortunately will be recovering still. So you're really going on preseason thinking you have Wirtz, Ekitike, Rio, a new winger and Gakpo . That's your attack right now with Ekitike coming back probably in the middle of the season.

Moises Caicedo 🗣️ “It was good for us to experience this. We want everyone to be comfortable receiving the ball and playing through the middle. It was a little difficult in the first half, but I think we played better in the second half. The coaches have been very good. They are teaching me and the other players a lot of things. Last season was a little difficult for me, but I feel good now and I’m looking forward to this season. I made my debut one year ago, and I think everything started from there. I had some struggles last season, but I’m doing well now. I’m a trophy player, so winning trophies is what I know.”

Asked Jaylen Brown about how he’s mentored Jordan Walsh this season: “I definitely took a step forward in my leadership to start this season, because I knew that with a lot of guys gone, we're going to need some guys on this team to take steps forward. I know Jordan had the potential, so I really communicated with him and spoke life into him so he could be ready for this opportunity. And he has been.” “I think he's had a great year this season, what I've imagined. I think he's still continuing to get better. He's got to continue to have the right mindset and the right approach and that faith that everything will work itself out.”

Joe Mazzulla on Alex Cora’s firing: “He’s great. I think he does a great job building relationships with the players, navigating the ebbs-and-flows of a long season. Staying even-keeled. Grateful that I've gotten to learn from him. Wherever he goes, I know he'll be good.”

That season, Bruno was competing with Ronaldo instead of playing with him. He didn't want to be outshone so badly that he dragged a penalty from Ronaldo against Villa - and missed it. That told me everything. Bruno cares about Bruno first. Nothing has changed. You think he is a team player because he got 21 assists last season? I don't. I think he saw a record he could chase and chased it. You saw the real Bruno at the World Cup. And you will see the same Bruno again next season.

Mike Dunleavy Jr. on Yaxel Lendeborg’s summer and how he foresees him contributing to the Warriors next season: “Yeah, I think we were really happy to get him on draft night, and we’re even more pleased now with his performance this summer, winning the Summer League, MVP of Summer League. I think he showed everybody why he’s the player we thought he would be. Obviously, that’s a short, short span. It’s a quick, quick couple weeks, and it’s a different level of competition. But I think it’s the beginning of scratching the surface of some things he can do, and we’re hopeful. I don’t want to write it in Sharpie, but we’re hopeful he can have an impact for us as a rookie right away. I think he’s a guy that’s going to play a lot of minutes and can play both ends of the court, and that’s usually hard to find in a rookie and a guy that you just drafted. But he has, I think, a lot of the tools to do that. So we’re looking forward to what he can do this season and beyond.” (via NBC Sports Bay Area & CA)

Conor McGregor reacts to Ilia Topuria's loss to Justin Gaethje and discusses where the former champion goes from here: "I knew that was going to happen to him. I've seen the training... You need to have it put on you in the gym. He's a bit flat-footed. He has his areas. He's not fully complete, but he's good, and he can make inroads. His face will have to heal, for sure. I'd say his face is smashed up. He got banged up badly over the course of the fight, which caused him to quit. It's going to be a dark place for him right now. He's going to have to dig deep. Can he do it? I think he could. There'll be motivation to do it, and I wish him well."
