To get a midfielder like this in the current market, you are looking at minimum £50m (Santos and he ain't even as good) so to me it makes no sense to take a low fee for him. I hope that after Iraola's comments he extends his contract. He can play an important role for us next season and beyond. No doubt about it.

🔎✨ Wouter Burger 🇳🇱 People will know how in depth I went about Burger in the summer - and how happy I was to see him in England, I had little doubts that his skill set wouldn’t translate in to a different league. In a season where Stoke have struggled he’s always seemed to put in good to decent performances and I’m really happy he has. He has at times played in a double pivot with Pearson but also played as a box to box and I really like the role because he has attacking attributes that can benefit the offensive side for the team. However he’s a long legged midfielder, can carry the ball, his long strides give him the best chance at getting back at opponents which he does a lot - sometimes mistimes tackles which can definitely be improved because he always seems to be in the right position to make the tackle but sometimes gets it wrong. He can play as the first receiver and can withstand pressure to a high degree, again at times can be rash with his passing but you have to take the teams style into account. I see him playing at the top level very soon, he’s a managers dream, can stick to instructions, still performs in teams that are struggling and doesn’t stop and covers so much ground, with a decent passing range and a good ball striking ability. #potters

Jazz Chisholm has a 1.9 WAR, according to Fangraphs. He actually leads all American League second basemen in, and that's with an atrocious start to the season. Since May 1st Jazz is hitting .250/.345/.479. He has eight homers and 21 RBI with 12 stolen bases. Jazz won't have that 50/50 season he was talking about during the winter, and he probably shouldn't have put that pressure on himself, but it's good to see that he has rebounded. The Yankees may not bring him back next season, so here's to hoping he ends the season strong and he helps bring that championship.
