Here's a crazy thought, try addressing the problem of what is causing people to be violent. Biden passed "the most comprehensive gun control in 30 years!" and yet it changed nothing. How many times does it have to fail before you realize banning objects has zero effect on violence? Violence happens in cities far more than in rural areas. Gang related violence is our biggest problem as a nation. What is causing this? Criminals have nothing to fear from law enforcement in 2023. The far left has signaled to violent offenders that it's ok to commit crimes in places like San Francisco as you likely won't be charged. This is why retailers are fleeing the city in record numbers. No one holds criminals accountable, so they run amuck. That's certainly one of the problems. We've had guns in this nation since our founding. The percentage of gun ownership hasn't changed much in the US over the last 100 years or so, it's not like guns showed up yesterday and crime came with them. Some have speculated that the spike in violence coincides with the use of modern medication used for things like depression. Perhaps we could study that as one possible problem. The point is, banning guns won't fix the core problem of violent people. Do you blame forks for making people fat, or do you blame the person who doesn't eat healthy? Gun banners are lazy. They either fear being called names for trying to tackle the problem of violence head on, or they don't care to actually address the core problems because it requires too much work.

Here's a novel idea. And it just came to me How about... Are you ready for it? Every time someone commits a crime with a gun... (This is such an awesome idea) Every time they commit a gun crime... They go to prison. I KNOW RIGHT? How can anyone say that's not a good idea?

First, he didn't appreciate David Brooks pointing out progressives are more likely to support violence than conservatives, "I'm not going to just let the comment that, you know, progressives, you know, more than folks on the far-right are, you know, think that violence is justified." He also portrayed the shooting as just another incident of common gun violence, "And, to me, the bigger issue here is gun violence, that why was I not surprised that this had happened? And I have been to that dinner at least a dozen times since 2000. And so, yes, there's an issue of, you know, people feeling that political violence is the way to go and that we are in a highly charged atmosphere.
