Story was rushed, Harry 2.0 was uninteresting, audience was shifting more toward the MCU. Too bad, because Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are both gems and the movies were lucky in retrospect to get them.

Great things about the movie but also alot of bad. If you look at it with a certain perspective its amazing. But if you truly hold it objectively it falls really flat

Everytime I see a post like this talking about how people failed TASM 2, it always shows this one scene. A 40 sec clip doesn’t change jack shit. I was rage baited into watching it again because of these kinda post and I completely see why the critics were hash

Timing more than anything. The MCU was on the rise. People can only see so many movies. Spider-Man wasn't part of the interconnected story so was de-prioritized. Or it became less exciting than the MCU narrative.

The audience doesn't fail. The audience does not owe anything. The creators need to deliver a product that caters to the audience. if the creators fail to do so... it's on them

Games flop for all kinds of reasons outside of the developers and the consumers control. The economy can simply shift or a pandemic or a different game releases people need to prioritize and suddenly their game gets no attention and investors pull out. Its a real bummer.

The script, it was the script, terrible

There were way more things to dislike. It blows my mind that if you give someone a few good visual scenes it makes up for lousy writing and sluggish pacing.

It's simple. The script was garbage. People don't realize that the audience can forgive a lot of stuff as long as the story is good. TASM2 didn't even need to have an amazing story. It just didn't need to be dogshit.
