I still pause and ask myself, how does something this huge fly!

I stay close to an airport, so each time plane is passing the noise is very loud and I can literally see it closely and clearly. Most times I'll just be looking at it as it passes and thinking,how possible is this?🥺

It's very simple

I'm a physics student so I will try to explain in a lay man's term. Large aircraft like Boeings fly because shaped wings deflect air downward, creating an upward “Lift” force, while faster airflow over the curved top reduces pressure above the wing. The Engines then provide thrust to maintain speed, overcoming weight with sufficient lift. Basically, Newton’s third law and Bernoulli’s Principles are the physics behind it.

As long as theres: 1, Thrust: Forward force 2, Lift: Upward force 3, Gravity (Weight): Downward force (Pasengers, Bags, Fuel) and 4,Drag: Resistance of air movement. If it meets all 4 factors, it must fly no matter how big or small.

The answer is a combination of two laws of physics; Bernoulli's Principle for lift and Newton's Third Law for thrust.
