What is Pi App Studio’s New creation Pricing Model? Pi Network (Pi Network) has announced a major change to how creators will pay to build and edit apps through Pi App Studio, with the new pricing taking effect on August 24, 2026. Until now, Pi heavily subsidized App Studio for all creators. Under the introductory model, creators paid just 0.25 Pi to create an app and another 0.25 Pi to edit one. But Pi says the actual cost of providing AI-powered app creation is significantly higher than what creators were paying. That means Pi Network has been covering much of the difference. Now, after collecting data on how creators use App Studio, Pi is changing that approach. So, what exactly is changing? (1) Standard App Studio pricing is coming From August 24, creators will face a standard creation and editing price that more closely reflects the underlying cost of the AI services used. The exact price will not necessarily be fixed. Pi says it may vary depending on the resources required to create or edit an app. Importantly, Pi says it will not add a markup to the underlying AI service costs. (2) Some creators can still receive subsidized pricing The biggest change is that Pi is not completely removing its subsidies. Instead, subsidies will become more selective. Creators whose apps attract a sufficient number of real users can continue receiving the previous subsidized pricing. The focus will be on apps demonstrating genuine utility and usage from distinct users, rather than activity generated by the creator alone. (3) Pi wants creators to build useful apps This is arguably the most important part of the new model. Pi says not every app created through App Studio becomes something that other people actually use. Some apps are created simply for experimentation, testing or potentially spam. Continuing to subsidize every creation equally could therefore consume significant network resources without producing meaningful utility. The new model is designed to change that incentive. Creators now have a stronger reason to build apps that solve problems, attract users and provide value to the Pi ecosystem. (4) Subsidized pricing is not permanent or guaranteed Qualifying for the subsidy will not be a one-time decision. Pi plans to regularly review creator eligibility using newly generated data. Vitaliks mandarin fluency is a super bullish signal for Ethereum 🐂 He had an open town hall at HK where community members asked him all sorts of questions, from the easy to the difficult The hard questions were all in Mandarin so i couldn't follow those 😅 At the town hall he laid out the guiding principle for Ethereum: cooperation without domination It's especially important in today's world where a powerful person dictates terms and others have to follow, or we have no cooperation & there's chaos What this means at a technical level is that Ethereums the world computer & we need to build enough trust that developers feel comfortable building apps on top of it. I found an old screen recording from my iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 17 Decided to compare the animations to my iPhone 17 with iOS 27, and I have so many thoughts 😭 Overall, iOS 17 is INFINITELY smoother than iOS 27, purely due to its animation speed. Opening and closing apps is slow and elegant, accompanied by a beautiful wallpaper zoom. 27 is rough, fast, and lacks fluidity. For some reason, they got rid of the wallpaper zoom when opening/closing apps, making everything feel flat. All of that is paired with the atrocious performance of the iOS screen recorder that started with iOS 18 and still hasn’t been fixed. Notice how there are zero jitters on iOS 17, but both jitters and artifact on 27. This is not a hate post. I just wanted to share my thoughts. And no, this isn’t the problem of a “beta”. Stable iOS 26 has the exact same issues. Thanks 💔

It’s been a year since the company I helped start shut down. It was one of those ideas that felt truly “net-positive” for the world, and truly helped people on a personal level. So, over this last year I worked on 2 things — searching for an idea that feels net-positive and something people could connect with on a deep, personal level. That led me to build + launch 2 apps at the beginning of the year: 1. Lyrics: Daily Music Widget - an app that shows you song lyrics from your favorite artists, right on your home screen 2. one year - another app that shows how many days of growth you’ve had in a year Both of these apps had their ups and downs, but they made me realize some pretty cool things: - I want my apps to feel great to use - I want me apps to do one thing really well - I want my apps to feel like a human made them - and, I want my apps to always be made with other people So, two months ago I took those concepts, went to visit in SF, and started on an idea that I truly felt could change the way people live their daily lives. And, it’s launching today. This is Find Your Faith, an iPhone app that helps you discover a spiritual path that resonates with you, or helps you dive deeper into a faith you already practice. We started this as a way to help us with our own spiritual journeys. We wanted to explore different faiths in a way that was authentic to us. The beauty about spirituality is there is no deadline on when you should “figure out what you believe in” lol. It’s really something to check in on during the different seasons of your life. And, there isn’t just one way to do it. Some people may enjoy reading religious text, or others may prefer being in the presence of something greater than them. At the end of the day, these are just ways to give yourself the space to explore really tough questions and concepts. That’s what Find Your Faith (or fyf) does — helps you understand where you are on your journey, no matter where you may be, and gives you the space to sit in these questions every day. This is just the beginning for us, and hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed building it :).

🚨 Aurora Alert! 🚨 Hey everyone, a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) from the Sun is heading our way, potentially sparking strong aurora displays tonight into tomorrow (Nov 7-8). NOAA predicts arrival of the CME around midnight UTC on Nov 7, but add +/- 7 hours for uncertainty. The CME we are concerned with specifically launched due to an M7.4 CME produced by AR 4274. In coronagraph imagery, a full halo eruption iswasclearly seen. This is how we know this particular eruption is coming at us. When it will hit and how strong it will be are not things we can predict until we see the shockwave detected by satellites close to Earth (ACE, DSCOVR at the L1 point). The forecast shows possible G3 storming, and there are multiple CMEs on the way besides the main arrival around midnight on Nov 7. There is also a coronal hole that may enhance and add additional complexity to the situation, affecting arrival times of the CME(s). Conditions need to align for the best-case scenario to play out. The CME needs to hit (most models have a high % chance of this happening, but you never know), and the Bz needs to be southward for some time for conditions to ramp up. The auroral ovals may expand to lower latitudes, and chasers above the 45th parallel may see auroras all night long. During substorms, the aurora "explodes" across the sky and becomes bright and tall. These explosive bursts push the northern lights higher in the sky, making them appear further equatorward.
