"I think we should be extremely concerned about anything that undermines the First Amendment. There is a reason for the First Amendment. People came from countries where they could not speak freely. Where saying certain things would get you thrown in prison." — Elon Musk

.Elon Musk: "It's bizarre that we've come to this point where free speech used to be a liberal value. And yet we see from the 'left' a desire to censor. That seems crazy. I think we should be extremely concerned about anything that undermines the First Amendment... We must protect free speech, and free speech is only relevant when it's someone you don't like saying something you don't like because, obviously, free speech that you like is easy. The thing about censorship is that for those who would advocate it, just remember at some point that will be turned on you."

Elon Musk: There's a weird movement to quell free speech around the world. We should be concerned about that. “Why was the First Amendment a high priority? Number one is because people came from countries where if you spoke freely, you would be imprisoned or killed. And they were like, we would like to not have that here, because that was terrible. And actually, there's a lot of places in the world right now, if you're critical of the government, you get imprisoned or killed. We'd like to not have that.” Source: All-In Summit, September 9, 2024

Elon Musk on why he bought Twitter and why free speech matters: "I think we need to be very cautious about anything that results in the suppression of free speech." Musk argues that one of the biggest dangers is creating an environment where people feel they can't question certain ideas, even questioning them becomes unacceptable. He compares this to cancel culture, saying he has faced attempts to cancel him from both the left and the right. Musk also emphasized why free speech is so important: "Free speech is actually extremely important." He pointed to the First Amendment and why it exists in the first place: people came to America from countries where speaking freely could get you imprisoned. His broader message is simple: A society cannot remain free if people are afraid to question ideas or speak openly.

Elon Musk was right, this is exactly what’s happening in the UK and European Union countries ‌ “Why is Freedom of Speech the First Amendment? It’s because people came from countries where if you spoke freely, you would be imprisoned or killed” ‌ “Most parts of the world, you can't really say what you wanna say without some bad consequences”

Elon Musk: Freedom of speech is the ability to say what you want to say without being thrown in prison or killed "One of the first things the Nazis did when they came in, is to shut down all the press and any means of conveying information. If there had been social media, I think it would have been impossible to hide, if there'd been freedom of speech as well. It's worth noting that the First Amendment in the United States was freedom of speech because the people that came to the United States from other countries did not have freedom of speech. If they had said something, they could be imprisoned or killed. And that's why the first correction to the Constitution was the ability to say what you want to say and not be thrown in prison or killed."

Elon Musk on why the First Amendment is so important. "It's because people came here from places where if they spoke their mind, they'd be put in prison or k*lled, or just shut out from society. Ostracized. So freedom of speech is absolutely fundamental to a good future."

Americans have the right to choose who lives here and who leads here. I’d rather live in a country where the people down the street feel just as entitled to run it as I do.” Source: Elon Musk

Shabbos Kestenbaum is calling for anyone making remarks he deems "antisemitic" to be sent to prison. So do we HAVE a First Amendment in America or do we not? Because the Supreme Court has ruled that the EPITOME of the First Amendment is the right to say things others may deem offensive, declaring that protecting unpopular or distasteful ideas is a bedrock principle of the First Amendment.

NEW: Joe Rogan warns that the First Amendment is in danger if Kamala Harris and Tim Walz win. "I don't think it [censorship] turns around if Kamala Harris gets into office. I think they clamp down more." "She openly discussed the need for the same rules to apply to Facebook and Twitter and the possibility that Elon Musk could lose his privileges. There are so many wild things that they are saying." "Tim Walz said that the First Amendment doesn't apply to misinformation or hate speech. K, well, it certainly does."

Don Lemon couldn’t understand why Elon picked the First Amendment over ad dollars. “I acquired X in order to preserve freedom of speech in America, the First Amendment. And I’m going to stick to that. And if that means making less money, so be it.” They still don’t get it. Elon Musk

Butler, PA—Elon Musk at Donald J. Trump rally: “Free speech is the bedrock of democracy. If people don’t know the truth, if you don’t know what’s going on, how can you make an informed vote? You must have free speech in order to to have a democracy—that’s why it’s the first amendment! …and the second amendment is there to ensure that we have the first amendment!”

Our tech companies need to show some backbone. For all the people in Silicon Valley lecturing about the first amendment, this would be a good time to stand up for the first amendment.
