I thought #XR + #AI will change #education forever. After trying this app I changed my mind... ... I am now 100% sure! Let me tell you why. BRINK XR (link to the app below) lets you travel to various beautiful natural environments that are reproduced with great details.... Some Points of Interest can be found with the help of a compass but is the #AI that makes the app an incredible #learning experience... You can ask questions of any sort through a walkie-talkie ready at your fingertip and I was amazed by how accurate the answers were. Besides the novelty, the AI integration and the #UX were some of the best I have experienced for AI agents in VR. - Instead of having poorly reproduced humans acting as virtual guides, the walkie-talkie felt familiar and didn't need any additional explanation. - Activating the walkie-talkie felt kind of magical and relied on minimal #UI instead of panels and submenus - The various "states" of the agents (listening, thinking, answering) were clearly visible on the display instead of being floating indicators that would break the immersion. @BrinkXR Yep, like I also shared a few weeks ago, this walkie talkie is by far the best integration of chatGPT into digital experience, very natural. I even asked the virtual guide and she says she runs on GPT3.5

@BrinkXR I didn't know Brink had AI integrated into it. I'll have to try it later. Problem I have is with the incredibly small environments and lack of interactive objects. I would like something with more space and more objects to explore.

AI Mocap tools are evolving at breakneck speed... and I could find more than 10 all compiled and compared in a list you can get by subscribing to the XR AI Spotlight newsletter (link on top of my profile). This is Cartwheel and the stepping on that box was one of the most solid I saw. There is a bit of floatiness in the feet and they are not perfectly grounded, but since I tested the tool, the team has pushed massive improvement. What AI mocap tool do you use in your workflow? This soldiering training is the most impressive and immersive I've ever tried. It is 10x better than a YouTube tutorial video. It really allowed me to see the procedure from all the points of view, and even get super close to get the details. It is a collaboration between Gracia and Imperial College London: they recorded a soldering session with Gaussian Splatting Videos (4DGS), so that you can enjoy it from your VR headset. You can see the action happening in front of you; you can pause and re-watch what you need, change the point of view, get closer, get more distant. And the quality with which it has been shot is impressive: I enjoyed this experience with my DELL Pro Max Tower T2 with NVIDIA Pro RTX 6000, and I could really see all the small details of the PCB that was being soldered! I was really impressed by it. But I also noticed some drawbacks. First of all, some scenes have artifacts that make seeing the details of the PCB hard. I think when it comes to training involving small details, the capture and reproduction of the splat should be flawless. Then, as much as I loved it as a passive experience, I would have liked to have also some sort of practice session in VR. The power of VR is to let you learn by doing in full safety, and this kind of training does not exploit it. But maybe the best way to enjoy it would be in MR, where you have this training video close to a real workbench where you do the actual soldering while following the tutorial. Gaussian Splat can really revolutionize training: this kind of recording is much better than any flatscreen experience, and more accurate than any 3D CGI recostruction. I suggest you give it a go at this experience in the Gracia app (it's free). So I have a big announcement. I thought they were going to wait until the more formal announcement, but two weeks ago they let the cat out of the bag:) I have just been appointed Creative-in-Residence at the London School of Economics. The kind of unexpected news that blows your mind. Many years ago I made a decision that changed my life: Focus on the work, never hustle, and let the universe do the rest. After Yale and Oxford and all of that, I decided I would no longer apply for any fellowships or residencies. I wanted only to be invited - based on the impact of our work. I was almost certain it would take about 10 years for any of that to happen (I mean, who do you think you are?) and I was comfortable with that consequence. I would focus on the work I had chosen. And then, in the midst of inevitable doubt, the universe always sends a big message of affirmation. I am honoured and thankful. I look forward to collaborating with the school’s faculty, students and networks to accelerate the growth of the creative economy across Africa. The work continues❤️

I love books, and I'm an avid reader, but I just have a hard time because of the way that I perceive. "I've had a great sort of - one side of me anyways - was really satisfied by art and drawing and sculpture and sort of visual expression. And I think that that started to, you know, was the thing that kind of made me feel un-frustrated. And also the way the system was designed, sort of not to support me when I was in high school at that time. "It was very difficult, you know, there was a lot of, you know, just, difficulty. My English teacher in high school was worried about what my career would be, and I'm like. He would be happy to know that I'm in the Writers Guild of America now. "But, I think that that all those things are, they're all... you can transcend all those things with perseverance and with interest and with with help. And I think that that's an important part of it. "And I just think I've had to adapt, and sort of... I have my own style of the way I write, I write all, you know, but I'm pretty prolific.
