Grayson Murray was just 30 years old. He is no longer with us because of mental illness. First let me say that I’m torn up for his friends and family. I’ve been through it more times than I can count, but I’ve also very nearly put my friends and family in the same situation Y’all I’m begging you to get help if you need it. Of course that is, if you can afford it… which is so sad. I do not want to make this political, but I firmly believe that if mental health help was made available for free, it would be a net positive for this country. I truly believe we’d still have some of our friends The cost, however, has nothing to do really with one of the biggest problems surrounding mental health: the stigma Don’t get me wrong… it is better than it used to be. But it is still not where it NEEDS to be, which is completely gone Getting help does not make you weak. As a matter of fact I’d say the opposite is true. I’m stronger today than I’ve ever been, even though I sure have my moments. Those moments are fewer and far between now though, because I finally admitted that I couldn’t do it on my own, and if I was gonna bring a child into this world, I was gonna be the best version of myself I could be. I’m still here in SPITE of the stigma. All the people who say “suck it up, buttercup!” “Be a man!” “Get over it!!” Ironically now that I’ve been to counseling and can more acutely notice the signs, those very same people are the ones who could benefit from therapy the most. That’s not a dig. I hurt for them. Matter of fact a big part of my “journey” (I hate when people use that but look at me go lol) has been trying my best to forgive people who lash out at me. Because you can’t really get better waiting on the next game. Or at practice. It is good to get up 100s of shots, but what’s the use of it if you’re not gonna shoot in the game? I don’t like wasting time.”

My 5 year old boy does football training. At the end of the session they do a ‘man of the match’ type thing. My boy is always desperate to win it. He often doesn’t. I explained to him the other day that he didn’t win simply because he wasn’t good enough. That he deffo could win, but he just needs to be better, try harder, be more focused etc. One of the other mums heard me & was aghast at what I said. She told me she is going to get ‘runner-up stickers’ for all the kids who don’t make it. I said no thanks, not for my son. Kids need to learn that they can be the best, but they must apply themselves & dust themselves off when it doesn’t go their way. No consolation prizes, no ‘everyone’s a winner’ etc. There are winners & losers. Wanna win - do your best. Can’t make it? Don’t worry, go & smash something else. Play to your strengths & never, ever play the victim. If more parents & institutions had this attitude, the country would be in a better place - if I say so myself 😉 Cc Konstantin Kisin

It's wrong for parents to send their kids off to daycare just so they can "live their life" or work and not see them for the whole day. Children need at least one parent looking after them. Working is necessary, so one thing I would propose is for employers to offer in-office daycare services that will allow parents to attend to their children several times a day, and for work to mandate an hour-long break, only for parents and separate from their lunchbreak, so they can be with their kids. If more workplaces offered this, people would be more inclined to have children because the current system makes it very difficult for parents to be attentive and raise their kids and hold a good job at the same time.

The owner of a real estate company thought it would be fun to build everyone their own tiny home as an office instead of the typical boring cubicles. He felt that it would be more private for them and it would be fun for the to customize and make it their own. When the workers get to work they seem to be at a home away from home. They are happier and more productive. Would you want to work in your own home office like this or should he just let them have cubicles like everyone else?

First test of this hanging and it seems to work! It was hard building a functional one. He need better stuffing obv, and for the final test/photos the head and the hands are going to be hanged too. Even if I’m exhausted, I’m laughing for the joy of seeing this work to an end!
