I felt bad for Beth but her face when she saw Sarah like “oh god another one” she was over it 😭

Yeah, Beth's expression kills me every time... And it hurts even more once you find out her whole backstory. 🥲

How Tatiana managed to pull off multiple characters seamlessly is some of the best acting in a television series.

I love this show so much, but then in the last season, season 5, they got lazy with the characters and storyline, I’ll say what a shame considering it’s such a great show.

I couldn't disagree more. The final 4 episodes are some of the highest-rated episodes in the show. Season 5 Episode 7 (The Rachel-centric episode) especially is one of my absolute favorites, and the series finale is extremely satisfying. I couldn't have asked for a better ending!

Don’t get me wrong, the episode with the Lab & the pregnancy were amazing. But for me, they didn’t utilize the characters enough. Ex: Alison they did nothing with her all season; it felt like they just regressed her screen/story bc they didn’t know how to fit everyone in anymore.

I wouldn't say all season. They did give her her own episode (5x03), which was one of the best Alison episodes in the whole show, imo, but I get why you were disappointed with the way she was utilized afterwards. I still think the show overall ended on a very high note.

There is also the 2-season audio continuation narrated by Tatiana and some of her co-stars (Orphan Black: The Next Chapter), which is free on YouTube and other podcast platforms! Lots more iconic Alison moments in that! 😊

Great show. And Tatiana was incredible in it. She was far too good of an actress to be in the abomination that was She Hulk. Hope she gets back to better writing and more challenging roles.

I enjoyed She-Hulk for what it was, but I get that it wasn't for everyone. 😅 But yes, she does have TONS of upcoming projects, including her own thriller series on Apple TV (Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed) and a movie by a Best Picture Oscar winner that she is filming right now!

This show is so trippy and fun and cerebral. Tatiana Maslany is incredibly impressive pulling off so many different characters with vastly different personalities. I love the crazy Russian one - still call my sister "seeztra" IYKYK! Wish I could find it streaming again. (US)

Netflix US added it back in september. It became one of the most streamed shows last fall thanks to them!

By the way, Helena is Ukrainian. She was originally written to be Russian, but since Tatiana had Ukrainian relatives, she suggested that they should change her nationality, so she could bring her own experiences of the language and culture to the character.

Extremely intriguing first episode. Great first season. Then it deteriorated quickly. They should have made a great end after season one.

Absolutely NOT. Some of the best and highest-rated episodes are in the later seasons. Also, the scientific and psychological themes they explore and the way they develop the characters are TOO good to end the show after only one season. The series finale is extremely satisfying!

It's a pity that the new series of the show was total dog shit; couldnt even get past the 4th episode.

Oh, you stopped RIGHT before episode 5, the best episode. 😭 But yeah, it didn't live up to the original show overall. What also pissed me off is that they wrote Tatiana into the show, but AMC fumbled her by casting her in another one of their shows, which never even aired.

The first few seconds - with Sarah swearing and then apologizing when she sees the little girl - already signal this is a different kind of show. Meanwhile, is Beth the character with the shortest lifespan on the show (not counting recordings)?

Do you mean screentime? Or her in-universe lifespan? In any case, there are characters that died even before Beth, or shortly after her (like Katja) with less screentime than Beth, since she does get more screentime later on in the series through flashback episodes.

We only see Beth in real time for only a few seconds, not more than a minute, before she is killed. Katja didn't last very long, but I think it was longer than Beth.

Beth gets an entire episode to herself (season 4 opener) and appears throughout the season up until episode 6 (not counting recordings or visions), so she definitely got way more screentime than Katja.

She was too stunned to see a person who looks identical to her. And obviously, this is a major plot point that haunts the character throughout the series. Fun fact though, there is an alternative universe comic series called Orphan Black: Deviations, where she DOES save her.

IMO, The show stayed the same pace through out the series and there was no stakes, after a certain point you just kind of knew all of the main characters would be okay and whatever life threatening situation they were in, they would get out of. Tatiana was phenomenal tho

There absolutely were high stakes. Multiple main characters were on the verge of dying, to the point where you didn't know if they'd make it & some main characters got killed or sacrificed themselves, so I disagree with there not being any stakes. But yes, Tatiana is a goddess!

The comics are great! If you liked them, you'll DEFINITELY love the show. There is also a 2-season audio continuation narrated by Tatiana (the lead actress who plays all the clones) which is free on YouTube!

This was a great series indeed, but Sarah was not interesting enough for me. I loved the Helena character more, followed by Allison. They should have explored those two characters more than they did. Sarah was too boring and generic.

I completely disagree with you on Sarah - she is one of the most complex protagonists I have ever seen on TV (season 4 episode 7 and the series finale especially cemented that), but I do love Alison and Helena. Helena especially got a ton of character development.

Well, Sarah was too predictable for me. I was always looking forward to Helena, cuz you couldn't predict her next move, starting from the first moment she was revealed (when she could've killed Sarah, but didn't). A unique character And Allison? U think you know her, but u don't.
