Fortunately, no one was injured, but all three cars were damaged, with the second Ertiga sustaining the most damage. The drivers of the cars behind me began scolding me for stopping on the highway, and a group of local villagers also gathered and became aggressive. Thankfully, my dashcam footage saved me. I showed them the video, which clearly captured the first Ertiga parked in the high-speed lane, causing the chain reaction. The owner of that Ertiga fled the scene after hearing the sounds of the collisions. Despite the damage, we three drivers handled the situation calmly, as everyone had insurance. I attempted to file a complaint against the driver of the parked Ertiga, but no police station helped me. They claimed that since he wasn’t directly involved in the accident, no complaint could be lodged. Here’s what happened when I tried to file a complaint: 1. I approached the Pune police station (as I’m from Pune and the parked Ertiga also had a Pune registration). They redirected me to a Nashik village police station. 2. The Nashik village police station redirected me to the Nashik city police station. 3. The Nashik city police station told me there was no law to register a complaint against the parked driver in this case. Using the car's number plate, I was able to get the owner's mobile number. Initially, he denied being there, but when I shared the dashcam video, he casually said, "Go ahead and complain; nothing will be done."
