I was watching back a few bits from older games for a post to compare the current state of the midfield with the older one, but instead I am just posting this. Watch Fabinho and Gini in this clip. Look at Fabinho and Gini: - They stay close to... each other - Fabinho covers for Matip (defensive awareness) - Fabinho anticipates where the ball is going to stop the attack (and isn't scared to challenge) - Then he anticipates the header and heads it to Gini (Both close to each other to maintain options) - Gini gets the ball, moves it quickly to Fabinho. - Fabinho turns quickly and passes forwards Both stopped 2 potential breaks, and started a new attack for us. Being a midfielder is about being smart. Not running around. Compare that to yesterday. Night and day.show more

Introducing the “Get” action in basketball to lacrosse! The “Get” is a 2man action where a player passes the ball to another player and sprints to go “Get” it back on a handoff. This action has similar concepts and reads to pick and roll, but the picker is actually the ball handler! In lacrosse, we have been experimenting with Gets because it creates so many interesting situations and reads for the players. The way we teach it in small sided games is to have one offensive player declare “I’m shut” and the defense has to face-guard him. From there we pick for the shut off player trying to spring them free for the Get. The ball handler has to engage and control their defender, anticipating the shut player trying to get open. The shut player can backdoor if being overplayed towards the get (rejecting the get), receive a flip, or continue curling around the ball getting open for a late pass. The ball handler can feed the reject, flip the ball, or fake the flip to attack the goal or make a late pass to the shut payer curling to the goal. I’ve seen examples of this run in men’s and women’s DI lacrosse at Ohio State and Northwestern, respectively and I’ve run this myself when I was coaching HS girls lacrosse. You will also see on this reel a sick application for Gets vs. a common big-little invert coverage where the short stick doesn’t go behind with his man and plays “Safety” in front of the net. Gets are fun for the players, are incredible for teaching your players 2man game on and off ball, dealing with double teams, and creativity with passing, and can be used to score goals. Steven Spielberg on how he felt being involved in making both "E.T." (1982) & "Poltergeist" (1982) at the same time: "Both movies were very good for me to make so in such close proximity to each other, because both being rooted in Suburbia in a kind of middle class Suburbia; both essentially employing similar kinds of tract housing and yet one movie being about a scream, and the other movie being about a kind of soft whisper. It was very good for me because I was able to trade off objectivity which I think is very important for a movie director or a writer or anybody who has to stand away from his work and look back and say I know how to make that better. It's good to have diversions and I was very lucky because I was able to have a hostile diversion with 'Poltergeist', with spiritual warmth in places and I was able to have a very warm tender diversion with 'E.T' and I kept putting one into the other, not meaning I didn't share a tea with Poltergeist but It cleared my mind. When you eat sushi, the Japanese say You must take the ginger and eat a little bit of the ginger between Sushi courses because it clears the palate and it makes you more receptive to the taste of the food. It was the same way with these two movies. So, in that sense I think both films so close helped each movie individually, but it didn't help me. I'm ready for like a year off now." I need to say that this was a peak moment in my fanlife and nothing is comparable to Becky leaving the set of GFNW on the last day of filming and driving to the other side of bkk to surprise Freen. To make sure their tradition of being there for each other stayed alive and untouched. Freen getting emotional because she wasn’t expecting to see her there, knowing how stressful and hectic a last day on set usually is. And seeing them being for once careless and hug each other in front of a crowd. The longest hug they had in public. I swear nothing can compare (so far 🌝) #FreenBecky

The reason Ruben Amorin needed “legs or ground eater” was because he never believed in players playing close to one another and keeping the ball for a long time. We often launched the ball to our strikers to beat press, he did the same at Sporting CP with Gyokeres and that caused our team needing to run so much because when we lose the second ball, we were in trouble.. It’s more about athleticism to him than techniques.. He never wanted players that are comfortable on the ball instead he likes players that can pick long passes so they can move the ball as quickly forward as possible and that’s why he never rated Mainoo.. Now Carrick has a different approach to football which is for players to play close to one another, take regulated and calculated risk instead of throwing the ball in the air at every chance which limits his need for “ground eaters” and increases his needs for actual ballers, guys that are comfortable on the ball and know how to pass it at the same time.

Cameron Young is playing with a golf ball that would allegedly be compliant with the new roll back rules that will come into effect in a few years time. He was asked about it ahead of the PGA Championship and he says every player in the game is sacrificing distance for control, and he put it in play at the Wyndham last year which he won. “I think I put it in play the same reason that everybody else plays the ball that they play. I hit it during a ball test, one of the Titleist facilities probably close to two years ago and didn't know anything about it and just kind of say, hey, what's that one? Because I liked the flight. “Then as things progressed, I was able to test it last year at Wyndham, able to put that in play, and it's been there since. “Obviously there is no conforming list. I wasn't aware that it would have -- I suppose I read something that said it passed that test, but I wasn't aware of that until very recently. “So at no point was that a consideration. It was just really me trying to optimize my golf, and it's the ball that seems to work the best for me.” He then was asked whether he lost distance with it compared to other balls he’s tested: “Not particularly. I don't think any of us are out really here playing the ball that goes the farthest. I think you'd struggle to find a single person that's doing that. We're all sacrificing a certain amount of things that we feel are worth it, control with irons, control with wedges. For me, that's the biggest thing is being able to control spin, and this is the ball that does the best for me.” Finally he can as asked whether this ball goes further than the one he was using: “No, I hit very similar, yeah. It's much more -- the driver is kind of the easiest thing to deal with, I feel like. People are just concentrating on fear, confusion and anger. And therefore just for a moment, I'd like us to think about Love. In a very magical, straight way, John and I met in London and from then on we stood for Peace and Love. And when I do this kind of event. Well it is... I was inspired to do it, but I still think that I'm still with John in spirit. John and I created the country called Nutopia. Not Utopia, because there was Utopia as a concept already. And we wanted to create a new concept, so we just added N on it - Nutopia - and as a country. Well, that is the concept of a country. And we all are citizens of that country. And in my apartment in the Dakota Building, we put a little plaque on the back door, the kitchen door. It says 'Nutopian Embassy' and even now we have that. (laughs). Nutopia exists in our minds. And because of that, some people want to rebel against it. The reason some want to rebel against it is a good proof that it exists. I think that it was a terrible thing that happened in Chechnya. But we have to still keep our hopes up. And instead of giving up, we have to keep on sending the message of Love to each other. You say that I am the Ambassador of Peace. We are all Ambassadors of Peace. You are too. Everybody in this room are Ambassadors of Peace. Just the fact that we are not participating in War. The fact that we are here, and we are what we are, means that we are in the Peace Industry. All of us. John and I used to say that our apartment in the Dakota is a conceptual monastry, just for the two of us. And when we go out of the Dakota, we get so many people communicating with us, so it's very important that we had silence and quietness. And my apartment is a very small space compared to the world. And I need that for my peace of mind. You should be kind to each other. You should come together, hug each other, love each other, express our love to each other and we should make it work. We should finally create a world that is a totally an Earth for Us. So let's do it. YOKO ONO: ONOCHORD, VENICE, 2004 Yoko: The world is divided in two industries. One is the War Industry and the other is the Peace Industry. The people in the War Industry are totally together. They don't have to talk to each other, even. They know exactly what they want to do. They want to go out there, kill and make money. But the people in the Peace Industry, which are us - we are so idealistic that each one of us criticises the other Peace Person in the Peace Industry. And we are always just arguing and we are wasting our energies doing that. So let's just forgive each other and see that we are in the Peace Industry and that's all that counts.
